I ought to clarify the deal with the Vortex side event, since you need to know the rules before you make an educated choice of which Battle Pack to purchase.

Somehow, foul magic has thrown you headlong into a Reality Vortex, where all the rules of the Old World you live in are not what you know! Here, armies launch their deadly assaults from a home Citadel, and the forces of Order and Destruction combine to form tribal factions who care less about their differing ideologies than eradicating all rival tribes.

Players choose any Battle Pack and begin with one support card of their choice from the Pack in any zone, for free. This is the player's Citadel. Citadels may not be the target of effects, and may not leave play for any reason. If a player's Citadel is neutral, then they may choose to play on any Capitol Board. Otherwise, the Board and the Citadel must share the loyalty icon. Players then shuffle the remainder of the Battle Pack together, forming their deck. All cards in a BP are legal to play in the same deck, although cards with zonal restrictions must still follow them. The game is otherwise played as normal, applying all loyalty penalties to card costs.

I want to attend this event but I simply cannot line up cheap enough airfare.

Sorry I've been MIA. Every day is promoting and every night is preparing. We'll miss ya at The Show; I've told the guys about you and Brad. The prizes look seriously good. And folks are psyched about the side events, since they give a different spin on the game and open up new ideas and strategies, particularly the multiplayer match. We hope to meet up with you someday, whenever you can!
