was it beaten by rebel beef or imperial?

Not sure.
So much for quad Phantoms! Only 5 I saw played, and most with very poor showings. My guess is that it’s people brought it because it was strong, but relied on the list to win, rather than their own play.
Not great when the best hope to beat it is to have it be flown poorly, but when I was helping some people prep by flying that against their lists we concluded that in Swiss there was a better chance to beat it simply because people could fly it poorly. And a bunch of 2-4 records shows that to be true. At the top tables however…
Rebel beef seems the dominant type for us up in he PNW. And a lot of very similar/ nearly identical lists. Wedge, Cassian, Ten, Braylen seems to be the flavor of choice. That is the real dominant list.
What was the winning list in Seattle?

Rebel Beef.
Ten Numb
Braylen Stramm + Crack Shot
Cassian Andor + Tactical Officer + Leia Organa + Pivot Wing
Wedge Antilles + Swarm Tactics + Servomotor S-foils

And flown by Daniel Taylor, a three-time World Champ at Imperial Assault and runner-up at a separate System Open IIRC. He seems to be pretty good at this whole miniature gaming thing.
(Terrible Vynder luck with proton torps also helps, I hear)

I got taken out by my own greed. But the list I lost to was hatchmen. He flew it well, but when I had the upper hand I let chance decide fate and not flying.

You still made top 8 and did a heck of a good job getting there.

@Hujoe Bigs impressive effort making top8. great to see scum list other than drea/scurrg at the top tables. Did u face many init 6 pilots in ur matchups? this seems like it would be a tough matchup vs ur init 5 ships?

A couple wedges, Vader in my last game. Int 6 don't want to be caught in ketsu's arc at all.

rebel beef everywhere. imo its an easy squad to build but difficult to master. like most squads in 2.0 you still need to fly well to win matches. Even the much feared quad phantoms doesnt win on its own.
i flew Assaj/heightened perception/title + Fenn/swarm + Zelous Recruit in a sml local event and it performed well but has limitations created by the 6-4-1 initiative of its ships... swarm tactics is gr8 but tricky to maximise with only 3 ships which have to move in a specific order. The 5-5-5 initiative of Ketsu/OldT/Kavil just has far superior synergy.

It's a suuuper fun list to fly. But gosh you gotta be careful on choosing your engagements.
Also, can I give a shoutout to the crew that ran this event, and everyone in attendance? Played both the Saturday SOS and Sunday Hyperspace. Between the two days, I was able to get ten rounds of X-Wing in. The judges were great, the prize support was great thanks to everyone getting tickets, and many of the players were giving out awesome unofficial alt-arts.
Someone saw that I was flying a Dooku/Grievous/Maul build, and ran over to give me custom alt-art cards for all four Separatist Upper Management characters on my list. A couple folks also shared some of their spare tickets, which allowed me to come away with both frosted versions of Quickdraw and Guri, as well as all three alt-art Red Squadron characters.
It's reinforced my goal to put together some alt-art Duchess and Biggs cards in return, so that I can return the favor at the next event.
