Outer Rim Dice?

By BlastyMcBlasterFace, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Has there been a ruling as to whether or not you can legally use Outer Rim dice at FFG events?

I haven't actually seen the dice for Outer Rim, do they have the same faces as X-wing dice? And a set each of hit and evade dice?

One article FFG posted said they were identical (it even lists the sides, the same as standard red dice)

But, no official statement about whether you can use them or not has been posted. Maybe when the points update comes there will be a small FAQ update saying yes or no.

While I do recall this, I looked the articles over again this morning to double check and couldn't find any mention of the dice. /shrug

Same. I think it was in the original article but can't spot it in there now.

Maybe they decided against it so removed the mention.

Tournament rules are the place to check, and for the relevant type of game element, they specify official FFG X Wing dice, not just official FFG dice.

Yeah, for now. Outer Rim has only just come out. And with only a few weeks till we get a points update (and hopefully an FAQ/ERRATA) they could change that to include these dice.

But until then, no they are not legal (apart from home games where both of you don't mind).

A skill test sees you rolling two dice—identical to the dice featured in X-Wing and fully compatible with that game—to determine if your job or encounter is successful.

I missed the expand tab. Thanks.

"Fully compatible" could be taken to mean yes...... I think. ?

When I went to Celebration, I asked an employee, and they said that you could use the dice in X-Wing. They even had problems with people trying to steal dice during demo games because of this.
