Playstyles Poll

By Wazat, in X-Wing

It's the first of the month, new poll is up! Here's the thread for it.

We had a total of 314 votes in the "Favorite Playstyles" poll, and here are the final results. Remember that people could select multiple options (e.g. you love Aces and Swarms).

Aces (High-init veterans. Usually arc-dodgy; can be "fragile-agile" but not always) 44 14.01% 14.01%
Toolkit Jousters (A mix of jousting and arc-dodging capabilities.)
40 12.74% 12.74%
Experimental Variety (I don't care whether it's powerful or weak, I just want to experiment with something new every time)
34 10.83% 10.83%
Thematic/Cinematic (I fly ships and pilots I like, more for thematic attraction than mechanical advantage)
31 9.87% 9.87%
Swarms (Vultures, TIE Fighters, etc)
27 8.6% 8.6%
Everything (I bounce between lots of styles and I love most of them, often switching preference by day; I can't stick to just one!)
25 7.96% 7.96%
Quirky Shenanigans (Might be strong or weak, but the focus is on wacky/strange/different; the crazier the better)
24 7.64% 7.64%
Shark & Remora (Ace or big ship surrounded by scrubs)
18 5.73% 5.73%
Two-Ship Fleets (A scum special, but other factions do it too; sometimes has a 3rd filler ship thrown in)
18 5.73% 5.73%
Deliberately Off-Meta (I like ships more the more neglected they are, maybe to a fault)
17 5.41% 5.41%
Bulk (Lots of Health and Defense, such as: Rebel Beef; sharing damage with Selfless etc; deflecting damage with reinforce or pilot abilities (like Norra), etc)
15 4.78% 4.78%
Munition Alpha-Strikes (Proton Torpedoes, away!)
9 2.87% 2.87%
Device Driver (Bombs, Mines, Drones, and other similar mechanics for area control and non-attack damage)
7 2.23% 2.23%
Anything Top-Meta (I go for whatever's strong & popular. I prefer something vetted and solid over something personalized or experimental.)
3 0.96% 0.96%
Other:
2 0.64% 0.64%

The two "Other" write-in responses were "all of dem" and "Whatever yasb's random list generator gives me".

I was cheering for Quirky, but by the end it'd sank to just above half the votes of Aces. But quite a few people joined my love for Experimental Variety -- turns out other people enjoy frequently trying new lists too ❣️

Thank you, everyone who voted! And thank you to the folks who gave me advice on this and the next poll; I wouldn't have done as good a job without it. And Toolkit Jousters turned out to be a fantastic category.
