Like the title says, I am quite disappointed in the quality of the components. Got the game yesterday, played it and had fun, which is the most important. But the cardboard playersheets are a bit warped, and thus keep turning, meaning all the cards underneath are dragged along. The cards themselves look very 80-ies instead of what we came to expect with rebellion, x-wing and imperial assault. Also 1 drop of water was enough to make my reference card go wobbly. And of course not enough dice, this is FFG after all. The reputation sliders could have easily be made a bit fancier, but this is really the simplest of solutions. A none fitting piece of carton laying in a little trench. Combined with the warped player board, again not ideal. All in all it is just not what I have come to expect from FFG, especially not for a price that is close to the core set of a miniatures game.
Disappointed in component quality
I was pleased with the components I received, I’m on my third game and nothing has caused a problem for me so far, the card art is great and everything was clear for the rules. All cardboard pieces punched well without tearing. I had an issue where cutting in the past, it wasn’t done well at the factory and the top layer tore from the counter and I have to work some magic glueing it all back in place. However, nothing like that here so I was pleased.
You got a drop of water on one of your cards?!?
You don't deserve to own this game!!!

I do agree, shame on me 🔔 ! However the drop came from a pint of B&J which sort of makes up.
Funny thing though, these kind of things either happen the first game or never at all.
Edited by sigidiSorry to hitch hike the post, but who are the playable pilots?

This question seconded haha
Playable pilots have been well documented you silly gooses!
Han Solo, Lando, Jyn Erso, Dr. Aphra, Boba Fett, IG-88, Bossk, and Ketsu Onyo.
To be fair, I had to look up Ketsu. So I'll honk like a goose too.
I am disappointed in the components only in that I don't have them yet. I'm confident that will be fixed shortly. The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am.

I swear to the Force, if Dash Rendar isn't the FIRST expansion pack for this game...

Luke and Chewie seem to be notable in their absence.
Edited by AmanalWhy would Luke be in the game? and Chewie is.

Ketsu Onyo is in both Star Wars Rebels and the X-Wing miniatures game as the pilot of the Shadow Caster.
Surely Luke should be a job, not a character... "Pick up farmboy and crazy wizard at Tatooine and deliver to the nearest asteroid field"

Oh sorry, I meant I had to look up Ketsu because I couldn’t remember who the 8th character was!
Quality is fine.
Gives us a miniature ship upgrade pack though!!!
I will replace some components with 3D printed ones. Designing them now.
I intend to use some of my Imperial Assault minis to proxy the standees. I already have the figures for Lando, Han, Boba, Bosk and IG88 and can used some of the created character miniatures for the others. Should work out pretty well.
Very happy with it all. Only concern is the thin cardboard for the ships next to the playerboard. I might laminate them.
Edited by GallanteerI have to say I agree with the disappointment. My player boards came warped as well, which means that the gentlest touch on the first playthough sent them whirling around and knocking their assorted cards and components around. All the market cards (but not the databank, curiously) are also bent, though they can worked back into a flat shape easily enough. But all the cards feel rough-edged and gritty as well.
Most aggravatingly one of the character stands came out of the box pre-broken. They're all that harder, brittle plastic so it's not super surprising to see it happen, though it's disappointing not to have had the chance to break that one myself. There's 8 in total and of course you only use 4 at a time so its not a big problem.
But I registered to see if anyone else was having problems, and I guess some are.
@Vanushka would you be willing to share the 3D models for the starter ships if you are doing those?
I opened and played my copy last night. The laminated boards did have slight curve. It was simple enough to gently flatten them by reversing the curve.
Certainly not enough of a problem to get bent about...
My punchout tokens came out awful. Most of the damage tokens, and a good amount of my credit tokens slid in half when I was putting m in containers.
As in there are now more tokens than before, but they are thinner, and the backside is raw cardboard.
it’s playable, but disappointing that it happened at all
Can you contact customer support for replacements? https://parts.asmodeena.com/partsrequests/
I also note that there are little resellers popping up that are 3D printing some components.
Some PVA glue will probably fix them in the wait time.
