The potential to follow(ish) in the footsteps of the LCG! I imagine/hope-for a multi-expansion campaign encompassing the Hobbit and he Lord of the Rings.
how would you handle the expansions?(delux, of course).

It’s weird because I feel like there’s less need for large box exapansions for this game. They would really only need them for map tiles and tokens, because the campaigns are DLC and they could release new cards, characters, and enemies as figure packs.
With IA there was always this anticipation of what’s next. With this game I don’t have that anticipatory speculation around future content. But... I can’t wait to have that future content, I know that much.
The first one is content light, imo. I’d like to see a three hero pack, maybe themed: dwarf pack, ranger pack, Gondor, Rohan, elf, etc. that gives a lot of room to advance content.
Good idea! A dwarf pack would be great!
I’d also like to see tiles for specific locations for added flavour.
Just learned of this game. It looks amazing and have already ordered it. It does indeed seem a bit light on content however and I hope they do add more expansions to it. I would firstly like to see more heroes and roles as it would give a bigger expanse of choices. Would like to see some more unknown characters or even FFG made up ones. Game won't ever be lore accurate so why not enjoy that it's a light take on the lore? After more player options, more campaigns, maps, monsters, etc. Look forward to what is coming here.

While they are definitely planning to add more, as someone who just picked this up last week I can say that it isn't as light on content as it seems. I had been watching a lets play of a guy showing people how the game handles solo (because I kinda expected I'd wind up playing this one by my lonesome, how wrong I was about that because my roommates LOVE it lol). They really aren't kidding about how modular the game makes the maps because so far I've seen four very different versions of the first chapter's starting map with different search points each time (minus the story-related ones, those obviously have to be there lol). Not to mention there are plenty of points that have multiple choices where you only get to choose once and tests who's outcomes can change depending on how many successes you get overall. It may still be Chapter 1 and have the same primary objective but the hows and whys of solving that objective is going to turn out differently when you play with Group A as opposed to playing with Group B as opposed to playing solo.
Also, as a side note, I thought I had a decent grasp on how difficult it was going to be when I watched that guy playing solo (with maybe a bit of an increase once my roommates decided to play) there are 4 players in my group and it can go from 0 to 100 in a single turn. So far each chapter has been ended with the very last action of the very last round, generally with us pulling through by the skin of our teeth and we are loving it
I’m hoping to see the map tiles cover more specific locations, as in “Bree,” or perhaps “Moria.” Some of the questions that has my interest is how will they manage Rivendell? How will they approach Minas Tirith? What of Rohan and, more specifically, the Gap of Rohan? So much potential, how will they divvy it up? What monster figures will come with? How big will a deluxe be?
Edited by BrownmantleI'm a bit worried about the pace of new content though. I mean, people have already completed the campaign and the only thing around the corner is models for bosses those people have already defeated (which still haven't been released). I feel Arkham Horror LCG has a better content pacing as they drop a deluxe pack, followed shortly by 6 add-on packs. With this kind of game content drop every 4-6 months isn't really going to cut it, especially if all that is being dropped is 3 bosses (2 of which have already been defeated).
Odd thing to say, but FFG does not seem to be ambitious enough with this product. These are my thoughts of course and I could be way off.
You did forget that there is whole new adventure coming. That is more than Arkham horror Lcg get in the same timeframe... but in longer run Lcg may get new content faster, just because card players Are more likely to get new content than board game players!
x people by new board game, x-y people by the next expansion. X-y-z people by the second expansion. So all the time there Are less people who buy board game expansions. Card game players Are more likely to buy new expansion than board game players. It is somekind of ”game cultural” thing. Strange but true!

I believe this is true. I’m not worried. I like playing two player most & the content is very thoroughly engrossing.
I posit that there will be a few of these monster/boss mini expansions per deluxe box, much like IA. Given the stark differences between the products, I have a hard time imagining how they will handle the “what’s in the box, what’s mini expansion” question.
