Switch out Duchess for Countdown with hull upgrade for a tankier ship (just don't stress Count for anything other than his pilot ability I have learned this the hard way), Duchess is fun for maneuvers but isn't as effective in offense or defense as Sabacc or Countdown respectively. If you REALLY want the bombs sure, personally not a fan.... For sure drop Protons from Sabacc for a shield to compliment his pilot ability.

Instead of Shield on Vader throw on afterburners, it will give you those 2 instances in the game where it can help offensively with arc/range adjustments as well on defense getting out of shots that would put in more hurt than what your one extra shield will do for you.

Last couple observations, I like Night Beast from 1st ed haven't flown Tie Fighters much in 2nd edition (I'm weary on Night Beast's initiative bid in a small squad of less than 5 ships) but try different fighters to see what fits. A fond Tie Fighter combo I have found is Seyn Meynara with Marksman as an EPT, allows you to issue damage behind shields ;) What I do enjoy putting on most of my Imperial ships is crackshot, especially strikers. Having a cheap EPT on each of your ships I have gotten at least 2/3 crack shots per round making the 3 points worth it!

I second the above.

(65) Darth Vader [TIE Advanced x1] (2) Fire-Control System (6) Afterburners. Points: 73

(44) "Countdown" [TIE/sk Striker] Points: 44

(44) "Pure Sabacc" [TIE/sk Striker] Points: 44

(30) Seyn Marana [TIE/ln Fighter] (1) Marksmanship. Points: 31

Total points: 192

Unsure whether a bid is worth it, I mostly only bother on the likes of Guri and Duchess, but there is more I4s around now and it will help a lot with the Ailerons. A shield for Sabacc could be equally decent though.

Markswoman Seyn is a real menace. It's a mistake to let her live. Same for Sabacc, so it might play into your hands both ways.

Markswoman, well played

I will say that having the additional hull is a must on Countdown, its a whole extra ATTACK your taking off the board. Just last week my opponent shot Count with not one but 2 fully modified proton torps at Count with 8/8 red dice vs 4 little to no modded green dice... and only dealt 2 damage.

This is a great shout, how much does Anakin moving after Vader hurt though? At 197 I would generally assume Aces at 6 will move last vs this

Looks super fun though and I’ll be giving it a try

(PS: has anyone tried adv Sens on Vader? I know FCS is amazing but pre move rolls are always so fun)

Vader wants afterburners.

Thanks for all the feedback. Much appreciated

I'm really digging the looks of those three aces - Night Beast less so.

If you trade the beast for Wampa, you get an efficient little 3 dice, or else he draws fire from your others. Ditching the bombs, that leaves room for FCS and AB on Vader, to make him the dodgy ace he needs to be, and Predator on Duchess and SU on Sabacc to leverage their capabilities better

Well all the advice has paid off, having a lot of fun with it.

@Carlospiceyweener , if you don’t mind me asking, which changes did you end up trying out?

I went with Glattyator, worked out well very fun to fly.
