I really like Ketsu and I really like the Perceptive Copilot. Haven't tried Asajj extensively, so I cannot compare those two.

The Force is strong I believe, but also expensive...

yesterday over the 4 games i played with assaj i got consistent use out of force tokens both on offense and defense. Ketsu is very good too. Iv played Ketsu quite a bit before switching to asajj. You can make an argument for either pilot. perc copilot over say Maul crew is pretty strong option as well. i really hope Maul crew comes down a point or two but i dont think FFG are going to do it considering how good even one force token is.

upgrading this squad a bit... [Edit made to thread title]

Current version is...

Asajj Ventress (74)
Heightened Perception (3)
Shadow Caster (3)

Fenn Rau (68)
Crack Shot (1)

Talonbane Cobra (50)
Crack Shot (1)

Total: 200

Less reliant on swarm tactics. Talonbane is good on his own even without Fenn. Init 7/6/5 for attacks still possible with HP on Asajj which sets up the tractor token for TB's and Fenn's followup shots. Double crackshot could be switched for predator on Fenn but that's minor.

Funny how my original version didn't run Talonbane at all but I actually think this version is superior to Asajj/Fenn/Zealous Recruit.

Thoughts?

Quite possibly so...

I do think there's a lot of depth to Swarm Fenn + Recruit though. No one likes a 44pt ship throwing 4 focussed dice at them before they've even touched their own. Plus the whole bait/bluff/block angle.

And TB has no boost :(

But I will admit I enjoyed being able seperate the 2 fighters. There is good flexibility in that.

Plus, 2x 5 dice R1 shots is mighty fine.

The 5pt drop in Assaj with title is all gravy though. I'd be looking at crew/illicit I think, (L3/Contraband). Be cycling back round to her when I'm done messing with v1s :)

Ill have to give this version a test run. On paper it feels a bit more forgiving. U can perhaps be more aggressive with the zealot version and get up in their grill or as you say even threatening to block with it can cause them to change flight path giving you an element of board control that talonbane might not. Yes i agree thd lack of boost on talonbane does hurt. 6pts of afterburners might actually be a must have investment to leverage his attacks. Let you kjow how the test games go.

I flew a Ketsu/Talonbane/Graz last night, against two E-Wings (Gavin and an Escort) and an Outer Rim Smuggler. Smuggler had Lando, and the E's had R4's, FCS, and...something. Whereas Ketsu had title/Maul/Fearless and my Kihraxz had Contrabands, Cracks, and TBC had a shield. My opponent chose to chase and focus Graz first, for some reason that even he could not explain. Ketsu did most of the heavy lifting and ended the game untouched. And TBC was...average? Better than expected? His pilot ability activated something like eight times, both on offense and defense, and he lived a lot longer than he probably should have. But Graz went down without ever once activating his pilot ability, although he did smack the Smuggler around a bit before he went. Ketsu got the win on points at time, with Gavin on one hull and the Smuggler on five. And yeah. The Kihraxz **really** misses a boost, especially given those pilot abilities. I can see where Fangs would just plain be better. Sigh. Still waiting for effective Illicits, I guess. And give the named Khiraxz fighters Afterburners every **** time, ha ha, no matter what else has to be cut out.

My cousin is using Ketsu (fearless and title) Teroch (fearless) and Nym (seismics, vet gunner, dorsal, fearless) and totally tearing enemy lists apart. He is a really good player and he used a 92p Ketsu/Fenn list in 1.0 which was also brutal, so he knows what he is doing...

I forgot to mention he made Top8 at the Spanish SoS with that list...

P.S He got rid of the seismics and upgraded the dorsal to Ion, and predator instead of Fearless on Teroch

I think your list looks very strong. I had a list before the points change that I loved with Asajj, 4-LOM, Palob. I've been trying to come up with something new.

Dengar (56)
Punishing One (8)

Ship total: 64 Half Points: 32 Threshold: 5

Asajj Ventress (74)
Heightened Perception (3)
Shadow Caster (3)

Ship total: 80 Half Points: 40 Threshold: 5

Talonbane Cobra (50)
Afterburners (6)

Ship total: 56 Half Points: 28 Threshold: 3

Total: 200

This squad looks good. Solid. Afterburners on tb is really omportant. I didnt hav the points in my list for it. Dengar here is probably the most expendable and id use him in the front line to intice shots to trigger his double tap. If he trades for something of similar value he has done his job.
