While an interesting idea as to how to limit ace squadrons in the game, ultimately the point of this tournament is to get players experimenting with new ideas and combinations outside their personal and the meta norm. To that end, I don't think making such a substantial change to how aces play on the table would be very informative to players as they start thinking about Regionals.

It's an interesting idea though, I'll hang on to it for the next time I need to handicap a Sloane ball!

I'll see how I get along with the fleet I'm taking to UK Nationals on Friday - just need to swap one squad for a generic and them it's viable for the this tournament

It will be the only zone I can play in really. 5-10pm Pacific time are out of the question for Armada right now. Has to be 7am-5pm Pacific or after 10 which are both more convenient for you Euros than the average American.

To do four rounds each zone needs five players, though that’s round robin not Swiss. I’ll take as many players as sign up, since it’s minimal work on my end.
