I got an email about the book today, and if you submit a screenshot of your pre-order, you'll get a nice patch for the book. Looks great too.
You can find the link if you look up "Star Wars Books" on Facebook.
I am VERY excited about this book.
Already got my patch!
That second video premiers on Tuesday to coincide with the release of the book!
As an Imperial player, I've been enjoying the Marvel "Tie Fighter" mini-series which is sort of a prequel to this, I guess?
Certainly whetted my appetite for this book.
If FFG had any marketing smarts, they’d release a upgrade pack alongside this book with new pilots.

Back at adepticon they announced card-only packs for Legion and said it was likely something similar would happen for other games.
I'm hoping they release a new pilot pack sometime in the future that includes cards for these pilots.

At SW Celebration they all but said pilot packs would happen. I want to look up Davy's exact wording again, but it went along the lines of:
"Yeah, there are definitely pilots we weren't aware of when we did packs the first time, like K-2S0, and of course we want to make them available to players when we can. And yeah, they'll probably be made available through some kind of card packs."
I'd love to see more options for Empire and Rebellion in the existing ships, and there's plenty more canon material. The new Alphabet Squadron and TIE Fighter series only add to those existing options.

A lot of people seem to take his words as absolute confirmation. I took it as "this is very possible and we're thinking about it but we haven't made a decision so saying it definitely will or or will not happen." I really want it to happen, though, for a number of reasons including this one.
yeah there are lots of pilots that could be added.
Alphabet Squadron
Hera X-Wing
Iden Versio X-Wing
Del Meeko X-Wing
K2 U-Wing
Hera A-Wing
Sabine A-Wing (need more Sabine)
Ahsoka A-Wing
Solo Cadet TIE Fighter
Ezra Y-Wing
etc etc

Hnnnng, yes.
Alphabet I know nothing of, so... I'll leave them alone.
Hera in both the X-Wing AND A-wing... I'm gonna need to custom paint some. Her current ability would be pretty good on an X-wing and BONKERS on the A-wing.
Iden... Iden would need a new ability since she's kinda Imperial Biggs and the Rebels don't need two Biggs. If they do this, she needs her droid.
Del... his could still work.
K2... NO CLUE but it needs to happen.
Sabine's ability would be amazing in an A-Wing especially flying with Jake and the ship's ability!

I doubt Hera would keep that ability in an A-Wing. X-Wing she might keep it. I'm not sure Sabine would keep that ability in an A-Wing either but I want them both.
Iden could maybe have a similar ability but not one that prevents all damage but maybe just some damage.
Also to the list, several pilots from Star Wars Rebels in a Y-Wing.
For that matter, from rebels you've got Vult Skerris in both interceptor and defender (possibly with a Defender Elite title or configuration)
from other currently canon stuff, Vader-in-Defender.
Maarek Stele in defender would be nice but depends if they dip into legends stuff (they might to do bulk out a card pack).
From the Phasma comics, TN-3465 really should be a TIE/sf pilot as it's the ship she actually flies , as well as a ship far better suited to her ability. Plus it would mean you can field a TIE/sf squad without having to put in a generic pilot if you don't want to.
For that matter, a card-only-expansion would give you the opportunity to introduce - either as 'normal' game pieces or maybe just as quickbuilds - the 'stolen' stuff people often ask about; a Rebel Chewbacca flying the Lambda Shuttle Tyridium , for example, or the First Order pilot Commander Malarus in the T-70 X-wing Black One .
Edited by Magnus GrendelHera gets a charge-based version of Tycho's ability with a stress cap, but only flies a B-Wing and an A-Wing.
Skerris and Ciena Ree both get repositioning abilities and are I4-5.
K-2SO gets a calculate with a coordinate and can spend a calculate in the end phase to buff another ship.
Laren Joma is an I4 U-Wing who can take damage to buff another attack.
Chirrit Imwe crew has 1 force that he can use to take a lock while stressed.
Merrick in an X-Wing has a 3-turn recharging support ability.
Book in hand! Excited to read.
B-Wing poster.
33/10. Much wow.
I have yet to pick up the Alphabet Squadron book, but definitely interested. General thoughts and/or rating on it?
Alphabet Squadron was pretty decent. Has a little bit of that old Rogue Squadron feel to it, but a lot darker. The characters have a lot of emotional issues stemming from the war, so it's not as light-hearted as the Rogue and Wraith books. It takes awhile to really get going, but I think it's well worth reading.

That actually sounds pretty interesting.
