Species That Need Love

By GortharTheGamer, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I know that we've got plenty of species to pick from, ranging from small to large (look at you Hutts). But there's still so many species that could be implemented into the game. For instance, we see no mention of the Kaleesh, the race from which General Grievous originates, or the Dathomiri, from which Asajj Ventress originates. Then there's the less known but still renowned Selkath, Veltron, Zygerrian, and Arkanian Offshoots (Talk about racial profiling (joke)). Then of course there's races that I doubt will ever be implemented like the Chistori, Gen'Dai, Massassi, Dashade, Defel, or Cathar. But what species would people like to see implemented into the game?

I'd like a better droid species rules. Rather than a basic profile you pick a sub species and each has its own stat block.

IIRC, Dathomiri are going to be in the next era book.

Kage. Miraluka

Gamorreans, Miraluka, Zeltrons.

Even though I have custom templates for these, I would be wondering just what the developers would do with them.

*retracted due to them finally adding Jawas!*

Jawas dangit. They are one of the most signature, and iconic species in the whole franchise, the first introduced that is actually "alien" if I recall my pacing of New Hope correctly, have some of the most quotable lines (even to the point of having a talent named after their lines), and are basically just a fun little species. I find it criminal they have been overlooked this far into the game line.

*disclaimer* Not sure if some later publication has actually printed stats for them, I stopped buying books in this line a while ago. But still, it's just totally unfair in my opinion :P

We have Jawa's they are in Allies and Adversaries.

Finally! Yay! I retract my statement then.

I wouldn't mind seeing (in no particular order) Zeltrons, Squibs, Cathar, Arkanian Offshoots, Ugnauhts, Ubese, Togorians, Herglics, Gamorreans, and Farghuls get official write-ups.

I thought we had Arkanians already?

Offshoots are a sub-species of Arkanians, originating from the KOTOR comic series

But how are they different from Arkanians? And can you pull it off by tweaking the Arkanian we have?

gah

Read the article. They're about as different from baseline Arkanians as Neimodians are from the Duros.

Can we get the Zeltrons removed from the setting? They are on my banned list for being male-player sexpot character fodder. :)

I'm more against the Miraluka and the overdone "blind but it doesn't matter at all" schtick.

Lol. Personally I reskin the Mellito special ability, and do wp 3 cunning 1. But I would love to see official stats just so we don't go through another force rating 1 as a species ability thread.

I always thought Arkanian Off-shoots were being presented by the stats of Arkanian. They have done this a few times such as the Cosian and Nu-Cosian and the Bith and Y'bith. It wouldn't surprise me if they had intended it that way.

That said Xexto/Quermian and Nemodian/Duros hail from different planets and have very different characteristics physically and intellectually as well as unique history write ups and do get split. I agree with these but the others I'm not sure. I kind of wish they went the Aqualish route with some of these and just noted the differences in the stats for Arkanians if there were any.

Humans and it's offshoots kind of throw me too. I get the appeal though.

I worked have liked the Gungans divided into two sub-species, but apparently it's just an obesity thing.

I used Zeltrons as NPCs but we avoided the whole sexpot thing.

Then why use Zeltrons? Serious question.
