This kinda hit me yesterday as I was list building other Kagi lists. 6 ships. Kagi guarantees no locks on howl runner meaning your opponent has to either roll way above average to kill her all while spending a focus token for mods, letting your tie swarm do more dmg versus naked dice. Kagi also protects the swarm from ships like Vader and Vynder who are lock-central ships and will need to spend rounds attacking Kagi while avoiding the swarm. Another aspect Kagi brings to the swarm is coordinate. The ability to give howl an evade and have her take a focus. AND Kagi provides a nice big base for your enemy. Swarm joust, Kagi clogging left or right side only leaves your opponent with one way to go. Kagi can be range 3 from the swarm, so doesnt necessarily need to fly with the swarm.
The drawback, Kagi is the exact cost of two more tie fighters and versus lists like Quad phantoms he might as well be an OGP.
Thoughts? One thing I didn't need is another list to try!
