Just as I predicted...

CotR has little that’s specific to the Clone Wars era; its focus is on TCW fan service.

Jet pack goodness! Super excited

I'm okay with this.

I think most people other than me will be okay with it, and I’m okay with that.

Crushgaunts are pretty extreme. I'm sensing a bit of power creep.

I do hope that the guidelines on actually using a jetpack (vehicle combat rules) in personal combat get fleshed out a bit more in the book. Many of those points also apply with speeder bikes, hutt floaters, and other Sil 2 vehicles.

They're certainly better than any other Brawl weapons currently available by a noticeable margin, so in that sense they're a bit of power creep (though they're high cost, restricted, and rare, so the GM has good control over if/when they show up).

On the other hand, they share the common Brawl weapon trait of having no Hard Points, so while they're strong out of the gate, there are a variety of melee weapons that will easily overtake them with a bit of customization and modification.

Except that the movies (6 hours at best) gave us very little to work with for this era whereas TCW has 50+ hours worth of content. It's pretty easy to see why there was lots of inspiration drawn from the show. It's literally the largest source of content for this era.

Although I'm no fan of the Deathwatch, that section will be pretty pricey for my current character (at least if the book comes out before Judgment Day) in credits and XP...

I noticed on the bottom of the article it had no expected release time frame. Previously the would give a quarter that they were shooting for. Now it will be out when it is out.

The last several releases’ articles have been the same.

I mean blast knuckles are cheaper and have +4 damage. I think the cost increase is for the 2 crit rating and the lack of the inaccurate quality and strain cost for use. Definitely high-end brawl weapons.

I'm picturing a martial artist with these. Yes, they can't use the supreme power, but this guantlet with improved is vicious.

While I would absolutely like to see more gear, vehicles, and ships from the two actual superpowers involved in the war? I'm not sure I see the inclusion of Death Watch as fan service. Sure, the Death Watch was a fan-favorite group in TCW (a show about, you know, the Clone Wars era), but the commandos also had a direct effect on the politics of Mandalore, the emergence of a former Sith lord, the submission of Black Sun, Obi-Wan Kenobi, etc. Surely, you can see why the Death Watch might be included.

Maybe?

My Mandalorian Guardian/Armorer as well.

Not sure how accurate this is but I was looking through the May issue of GTM tonight. They had an entry for Collapse of the Republic stating that it would be shipping in June.

Despite the issues with Rise Of The Separatists, Allies & Adversaries had a fairly quicky turn-around from announcement to shipping (about three months I believe), so June/July for Collapse and/or Gadgets sounds reasonable enough.

Yeah, Rise pretty clearly had some kind of issue crop up that necessitated a full reprint. Same story with Ghosts of Dathomir. If that doesn't happen again with Collapse of Gadgets, we're looking good for quicker turnarounds.

Looks like we got another Collapse Article today

This bodes well - IIRC correctly they typically have three weeks in a row of preview articles for a particular book then it changes status. This is why everyone was so convinced we were getting ROTS in December because all their preview articles were put up in late November (again, IIRC) but that book was the exception more than the rule.

Fingers crossed for June!
