What is the most stupid item in the game?

By Yaccarus, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Armor, weapons, attachments, gear, whatever... which ones are just egregious game design?

Asking this because I found out about the Armor Insert attachment in Cyphers and Masks, which costs 450 credits and turns Heavy Clothing into Armored Clothing, and also has mods for +1 soak and +1 defense. Basically, 2 defense and 2 soak armor for 500 credits and a few mechanics checks.

Stimpacks. Space Magic potions that instantly heal Wounds but not Strain. The name Stimpack makes you think stimulant, so you'd think you could use it to wake your stunned buddy, but no... save it for the guy with stab wounds and blaster burns.

Light whip.

Lightsaber crystals that add Stun, or Disorient or whatever to the effect of the lightsaber blade.

There's ar least some element of physical harm to them even if they go into space magic bull explanations from there.

If that's all Wounds are then natural healing is way too slow.

Adjust it for your game.

Kolto/Bacta. Good stuff. :D Seriously, I don't mind those. Of course, my current group has two individuals with force heal, so I think they've used a single stimpack in the course of 6 months.

or your thinking it is all one bruise when it is a more thorough battering with out real injury. And bruises and scrape take a while to actually heal

I'm pretty well-versed in healing times IRL, both personally and professionally. Admittedly though, my experiences are only with humans.

And this game is not a simulation.

He'll go back and forth with you over his headcanon forever.

A group could certainly houserule a new attribute that measures lucky misses or dodges, and reserve the use of Medical for critical hits. Goodness knows I thumb my nose at RAW. And I narrate small wounds as indirect. But if we're talking about the published game, page 31 of the CRB makes it clear: "physical damage," and while it "can lead to critical injury," it can separately be "serious."
