Elena's ability (what is nearby hero, actually)

By gran_orco, in The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth

Can Elena use her ability on herself? I think she can't because in the page 19, nearby, says that a component (the hero?, the figure?) is not nearby itself.

This brings me to another question: Can a hero use any ability on himself if the ability says "choose a hero"? Or only if the ability says "you", as Guard keyword? So a hero never cannot choose himself if the sentence is "choose a nearby hero"... Or not?

If it say chose a hero, then it work to that character itself. If it says nearby hero, then it does not work. (Character is newer nearby himself by the rules. Quite lost I have to say ;)

61.1 A component is nearby another component if they are in the same space or are in spaces that are adjacent to each other on the game map.

61.2 A component is not nearby itself.

Therefore Elena cannot use her ability on herself.

If it says "choose a hero" then you can use it on yourself since you are a hero! Note some abilities say "a hero on your space" which also includes you (since 1: you are a hero and 2: you are on your space).
