Still need a device for that pdf.

“You don’t need an electronic device [to use a pdf]” is absurd.

I hate the electronic RRG and want a book.

....Print the mother****er. You need a device for it just like you need a device (a ******* printing press) to get a book. I think it cost me $4 to get Fedex to print and bind the last RRG. I mean, I get it; you've decided you will never be happy, but the constant bull is incredibly tiring for those of us who have to put up with it.

I own many books and zero printing presses.

In the spirit of reducing drama online I’ll stop arguing with people who I think are right for the wrong reasons, such as the conclusions from tournament lists.

First games of Legion I played were in a vacation cabin with no cell phone bars. PDF only is bad. It’s not crazy that when I buy a game I want it to include its rules. PDF’s would be great for tournament rules and so forth.

I’ve wasted a ton of ink on half-printed copies of the RRG. Fedex et al are not a good choice for me.

I like Legion. But since I don’t think it’s perfect people think I hate it.

So Bossk and Sabine are getting released THIS Thursday or next Thursday?

My package I scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, the 26th. So, presumably it’s Thursday the 27th.

Apparently FFG is moving to Friday releases going forward. So Sabine and Bossk have a street date of 6/28.

So, you’re saying if I hurry I can have a non-street legal version on the field for two days? Noice.

Some stores who said their distributors told them, and then confirmed my Matt Holland on the FB group

Miniature Market says the Downed AT-ST is in stock. No longer pre order. Hopefully my order will go out today.

In the UK - Boskk and Sabine arrived today.

I have seen the downed AT-ST in store since earlier this month.

I am waiting for the first cycle to complete and will then print the RRG.

I am personally not interested in the next release cycle so will stop collecting at that point.

I want a physical rulebook at the table. Probably just habit but I don't like reading books off a screen.

This assumes that there will be no further rules changes that affect the first "cycle" of models.

Now, if your intention is to only play casually in a group that likewise "freezes" their game, no problem, go for it, I know people that do the same thing with older editions of some games like Warhammer, pulling out their old books and ignoring any later generations of the game.

But if FFG changes the rules, like say adding a new "Surge" action, changing the way some upgrades work, etc, then the rules changes will change how the game is to be played even with just the early waves of product. Plus, if you don't have the rules for the new models, then when playing against them you only have your opponent's word on how they work. While most people in my experience are honest in casual play, I have encountered people who "misremember" a rule to try to gain an advantage even with absolutely nothing on the line.

I also prefer physical to digital, but I do really like having the errata and FAQ built into the RRG rather than having to refer to a second document.

Would it kill them to put all the core rules at the beginning of the document and the keywords in an appendix? Preferably with bookmarks to key sections?

Ultimately putting the RRG in with the product means that often it will be out of date. I know that many people bemoan the lack of a paper version, but in this day and age reducing packaging etc is an issue. When was the last time you saw a paper manual for a computer game for example, at least it didn't go out of date in two months like the RRG will do.

Take a look at the Star Wars RPG forum where you don't have the option to purchase as a pdf. People complain of that (something to do with the license and it falling under EA's license I believe which also makes me wonder why the RRG, doesn't fall under that unless it is because it's a free supplement)

Would it kill them to make a printer-friendly version of the RRG pdf? This is the big problem.

Update on availability - saw Bossk, Sabine, and downed ATST at ffg Game Center last night.

What's wrong with the current PDF? Too many pictures? I've printed at least one copy of every RRG since January and never have had a problem. Even printed up a second one to leave at my FLGS so people would stop running off with my copy (and all of my cards, which are in the same binder).

Yeah, I think they have all been officially released in the US. Spanish site indicates the Rebel Veterans were released there, which is interesting. I'm guessing they arrived early there, and it was better than paying to store them for however many more weeks until the other kits are due.

It breaks my printer/computer every time. I’ve wasted a lot of ink and paper on not-owning-the-RRG.

Use a printing shop?

Ugh, I’m not done painting dangit, there’s no time for veterans and tauntauns

I don't think we'll get a printed book till after clone wars has been fully released. If not, probably not till we get a second edition, or never.

I still want a neutral merc faction so I can have non-human corps for my rebels. I just want to do an alien army.

The dirty grey background on every page. Pointless and drinks ink.

How on earth does it break your printer?

I get that it can be paper/ink/toner expensive, but it'd still be cheaper than buying a hard copy of the new RRG every time they change the rules or wording.

Dunno but halfway through either my printer or computer flips me off and refuses to continue working.

Then maybe they can edit it more carefully the first time. Or instead of a color quickstart guide, a black and white one that’s 3 times as thick that I can actually play the game with.

Companies always used to errata/FAQ the published book into dust. But for the unofficial player it worked just fine.
