Milk of the Poppy, Deadly, and You!

By benblythe2, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Does the card "Milk of the Poppy" which "Removes all text from attached character's text box" remove text granted to the card by attachments?

So if Khal Drogo has a card which grants him deadly attached to him, and then the sneaky Baratheon player attaches "Milk of the Poppy" on him as well does Khal Drogo still have deadly?

And just how many Lannisters does it take to screw in a lightbulb anyways?

1. No.

2. Yes.

3. None. They just buy a new lamp lengua.gif

Yeah, elo is right about #1and #2.

I'm still not convinced that a Lannister footman wouldn't just take the lamp from someone else rather than buy it, but I agree in principle that they would certainly not bother changing the bulb.

Thanks for the help. We used the sacred rite of "Ro-Sham-Bo" to figure out the rules call, which ruled incorrectly. Wouldn't be the first time R'hallor messed up amirite?

I am convinced it would take three Lannisters to screw in a light bulb, one to hire someone to do it, another to tell the first they paid too much, and a third to ostracize the second.

The pertinent entry from the FAQ:

(3.8) Gaining Abilities
If any card effect has the text "character gains...," any ability (traits, keywords, icon modifiers, or STR modifiers are not considered abilities) following the word "gains" is considered to now be a character ability. However, that effect is not assumed to be a part of that character's text box. Any effect that blanks a card's text box is assumed to blank that card's printed text box.

As for the Lannisters screwing in a lightbulb question, it depends on how big the light bulb is and whether the Lannisters in question are brother and sister or not.
