finished Hour of the Huntress yesterday. I enjoyed it. more pulp adventure than horror, but I still enjoyed it. It was nice to find out where Jenny got her guns. Started Ire of the Void. enjoying it so far.
Novellas? Done?

I really like Ire. I've actually enjoyed all 3 I've read (Norman, Silas, Roland). I'm not a reader (but a rabid listener), so I'm more critical of movies/TV/plays.
The AMA with Andrew Navaro answered some of this. Yes there are novellas coming, but they will be paced a lot less frequently. It sounds like they are being pitched ideas from writers instead of commissioning specific plotlines, so I'm guessing the novellas will not necessarily follow any particular pattern of investigator release. Per the AMA, there are a few coming out in 2020, and at least a couple for 2021.
Around the hour and 6 minute mark.

really enjoying the Deep Gate so far. Hope some of the side characters in the novellas become ally cards
I'd love an Abigail card. She was a pretty cool character in Deep Gate. Lonnie in Hour Of The Huntress and Josephine in To Fight The Black Wind I think are also card worthy characters.
Also I'm extremely happy with that change in direction for the fiction. As Andrew says you'll get a much better product I think this way. Someone who is pitching an idea is probably going to be much more passionate about the story they are writing.
Edited by phillosNot done. Dexter!

It's the same guy that wrote Ire of the Void for those of you who have gotten to read it.
Edit:
So, I found something interesting while googling the title of the book...
This is from a Sci-Fi Fantasy Con from May-June of last year.
Richard Lee Byers, rleebyers.livejournal.com
Richard Lee Byers is the author of over forty fantasy and horror books including... Ire of the Void... His forthcoming works (all of which should be available within the next twelve months) include Lancelot, Meatspace, Blood of Baalshandor, and Seekers of the Golden Citadel.

Edited by AntimarkovnikovI hope they do a larger print run than they did for the Silas book. Dexter is also a popular character and this will most likely be his introduction into the game unless this announcement is way ahead of it's release. The book sounds fun. I wonder if Molly is his signature asset.
Also I enjoyed Ire. I think it was toward the top of the pack from the original round of novellas. He also is the author of the Android book Undercity and the has done alot of Forgotten Realms books so he's certainly not new to licensed fiction.

I saw that list, too. None of those sound like Arkham, though. I think he writes for a lot of properties.

Yeah. I did some more quick googling and none of those seemed plausible. Then I googled all the previous novella authors and couldn't come with any other sneaky mentions of upcoming books that looked like they belonged.
Apparently he also wrote a book titled The Hep Cats of Ulthar and Other Lovecraftian Tales, which frankly makes him a winner in my book.
Disease and corruption makes me think Abhoth for his novella. Don’t know why I wasn’t expecting him (even though I went as him to Arkham Nights 2018) The product page also states 4 cards so investigator, signature, weakness. Anddddd???? (EDIT: Oh yeah, probably his mini card, lol)
Really hoping for a mystic rogue. I want him to be able to use sleight if hand so badly but no idea what use it would do a mystic.
Edited by SoakmanMy "dream" design for Dexter Drake would be a rogue, with Rogue 0-3, Spell cards 0-5.
So he can still do all the core mystic stuff, and has access to most of the actual magic, but has to rely on legerdemain and his showbiz connections rather than an existing understanding of the arcane, which suits his story very well.
Glad to see more alt-investigator novellas, I just hope the story is good!
As a note for anyone who hasn't spotted it... if you Google Dexter's book title, all of the stores that have it available for preorder are listing it as a March 2020 release. Whether that's the actual date, we'll have to wait and see but it's at least a good indicator of when the book might release.

Sleight of Hand a Grotesque Statue? Also Enchanted Blade, and just like everyone else he can do the flashlight/sleight combo. All seem like nice thematic fits for Dexter. I am very excited to see Dexter's design.
Add: I guess you could also use it with Scroll of Secrets and Scroll of Prophecies if you wanted to get a discount on card draw tricks. Though I've never found Mystic Scroll of Secrets very worth wild. Sleight is a Trick. It would be thematic if he could take Tricks. Though we already have at least one investigator that already has that as a deck building option. I think all the Tricks fit well for a stage magician.
Edited by phillosHe pretty much needs either tricks or rogue access. And I could think of so many silly signature cards for him.
