That's interesting. I haven't flown 7th Fleet yet. I'm intrigued by it, but haven't convinced myself it's worth the points. And after trying Tri-Cy, I'm really unsure how to fly a 2 Big 1 Small fleet against a 4-ship with SA fleet. Moreso so when Gladiator can be killed by a Black Dice MC75 before it ever gets a shot off (with poor flying, which I do more than I like).

I like the theme and build around keeping the Cymoons living, having dice control with Vader, getting that Gunnery Teams and Spinal combo going (mental note to try that out). I haven't tried MS-1. I understand the intent, but I've had trouble in the past with these fussy, fidgety type cards. But I'm a bit better than I was back then, so could be worth a gamble.

So, got some ideas to chew on here :)

Don't play the Gladiator like you play demo.. Run it behind the ISD as a support ship. it can fill in a flank, it just needs to be slower than the ISDs so that it isn't a target. It has dice that it can shoot with, it just isn't in this list to deal a whole bunch of damage.

Hmmm...not sure I follow. Zertik isn't a scatter ace, so Scatter Aces with Counter 2 or Counter 3 will chew him up in a few rolls. And Zertik is killing his own fellow squadrons to get his rerolls. I can see how he works if countering a mob of generic squadrons. But my hyper-local meta is a small number of scatter aces. :)

He's an escort with 2 braces

What I mean is, how does a double-brace, non-counter Zertik plus Soontir work better than Ciena and Valen? Zertik is going to die fast against scatter / counter aces. And while Soontir is dishing out free damage, he's taking damage from Zertik.

Zertik isn’t rerolling, he’s a meat shield. It’s not amazing, but it’s better than you might think at first. Personally I’d just shell out 5 more points for Bossk.

A little note of support for HIE + ACM use I ran across:

“Truthiness - B - He's a cheaper Vader with a bit more specialized use. HIE has brought Screed back up the ranking in my mind. Screed using HIE openers and ACM finishers is a brutal thing.”

He is A. Either saying on two separate ships or B. Saying that you need fct. It just doesn’t make sense to have both on one ship with out fct

not to put words in your mouth @Truthiness

You can indeed do both on a Krit Kuat with Fire Control, but I was indeed mainly thinking HIE on Raiders followed by ACM Demo.

I've two dual Kuat HIE ACM fleets to try, one with OE and one with FCT.

I haven't worked up the courage to fly Raiders again. :) I was trying MSU for a while and simply crumpled against MC75's or Liberty with SA. I lacked the skill to navigate and coordinate all the buzzing bees against a couple of hawks.

(I'll add, this has been an super helpful discussion on Imperial builds and tactics, from my initial question about a dual Cymoon fleet :) )
