introduce myself

By newbie01, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi my names Don, i'm a long time Star wars fan, Movies, Tv series, and now of Armada, I've had some history of playing War hammer and Necromunda, but when i learnt bout this game, i was hooked, i am new to this as I've mentioned in couple of posts already, but thought id do the correct thing and say hi to the community. My collection of Armada is as follows, i have 2x core sets, 3x Cr90's 2x Nebulons, 2x Mc30's and a pelta for the Rebels side of things along with the X-wings that came with the core sets, for the Imperials i have 1x ISD, 3x VSD and the Tie's from the two core sets. and planning on increasing the collection, not just for games playing but also for displaying as they look great. Thats all for now, thought i d say hi.

Welcome newbie!

In a couple years will you change your username to "Oldie"?

More importantly do you have a region you play in?

Depends on the part of the UK - but that sounds like plenty to start with two people. I’m also in the UK and was the only Armada player I knew. I started with one friend, then 3, then 4, now we are doing an 8 player tournament in august. Good luck. Anyone with a remote interest in Star Wars and model games should be an easy convert.

It’s got that great bonus of a whole fleet usually being 2-3 large models and 2-4 small models and yet still feels epic, with out the epic timesink of moving 300 men 1 inch...

Must admit i did buy two core sets as i had plans to convert him lol im sure in time my experiences will grow , one step at a time tho

You've just taken your first step into a larger world 😀 Welcome to the forums 🙂

Welcome aboard! Good luck enlarging the collection. There are several fantastic players in the UK. I'm sure you'll find some good games. If you're sort of computer savvy, you can also check out Armada on Vassal. It's a good way to get some practice games in online with other members of the community.

Welcome!
