My players are Emerald Magistrates, will this be okay or not make sense. I haven't read the adventure but I am worried that this will be a stretch. Any advice would be appreciated.

Is there any reason that one or more of them might get a wedding invitation? A Phoenix or Crane could be a relative of the groom or bride. Once you've got that established, they just happen to be there whilst at the wedding. Other than that, Kyotei Castle is in a busy part of the Empire, so they could be passing through and then got an invite due to being important people.

If they are magistrates they are important enough to get an invitation if they are locally based. If they are not I would lean into possible family connections or as escorts to someone with family connections.

I'm thinking of using this adventure with the characters and rules from the begginners guide. It's feasible?

I don't really see why not. Might want to make sure the characters have leveled up first since the difference in stats between the Kyotei pre-generated characters and the Beginner Game characters is somewhere around 27-40 XP. I would recommend them having played through Emerald Palace, Dark Tides, Oni's Mask (as well as Knotted Tails simultaneously) before having them take on the challenges in Kyotei Castle. The rational is that Ruby Champion Agasha Sumeiko received an invitation and sends the characters as her representatives since she is preoccupied running the Emerald Magistrates. Having been tested against Kitsu Sokori, this would be considered an easy assignment (or so the Ruby Champion thinks). The Giri that she puts on the characters is to maintain the peace should anyone decide to play wedding crasher (as Maeda eventually does).

I look forward to hearing how your adventure went. I am particularly interested in how Isawa Aki and Togashi Yoshi dealt with the restless spirits of the slain Damasu. As a further plot twist, if Tsume Takashi goes all "Runaway Bride" on Shiba Itsuyo, Doji Ren could easily and valiantly step in to salvage the Phoenix-Crane marriage alliance.

It may be more unwieldy, but it could be interesting to have all 14 characters participate. Two monks and two Shugenja would lend more credibility to the concerns that the spirits trapped in the castle may bring down the combined wrath of Hofukushu (Fortune of Vengeance), Fortune of Justice, and Benten (Fortune of Love) should evens transpire in a certain manner). I can see Bayushi Kyo and Bayushi Hibiki play off each other or even together pretend to be one person so as to confound everyone there. Yasuki Toru and Doji Ren could either be merchant rivals or allies. So much potential in those pairings and match ups.
