News is coming out that the world has lost Peter Mayhew.
Despite being covered head-to-toe in a hairy costume, he brought Chewbacca to life and imbued him with a true personality.
Farewell, Peter. We'll miss you.

Somehow it seems fitting that the latest Funko SW Smuggler's Bounty box was dedicated to Wookiees. I'll be wearing my "Let the Wookiee Win" t-shirt in memorial on Saturday for Star Wars Day

Normally I find your aggressive insistence that wookiee be spelled correctly annoying. But in this thread? In this thread, it is entirely appropriate.
Goodbye, noble wookiee . We'll miss you dearly...
Edited by Absol197Very sad indeed.
What a shame. RIP.

RIP Peter Mayhew.
I wish I'd had a chance to meet you and shake your paw for all your work on Star Wars and the Wookiee.

I had that privilege years ago at Dragon Con. He seemed very friendly and was quick with a laugh in both panels and in the celebrity autograph area. He will be missed.
The kitchen at Google made Wookiee Cookies in tribute today.
And here I am, slightly tearing up at eating a shortbread cookie. Madness.

Same here. I met him a couple of times, at Dragon Con and Celebration III. I even got to have drinks with him. He was very friendly and personable.
Rest in Piece Mr Mayhew. You will be missed.
Your letters paid off, @Yaccarus .
And yes, R.I.P.
