Rebel Fleet Army

Has anyone had success with converting Fleet Troopers to carry Rebel Trooper weapons (A280, Z-6, etc)? If so, what tips can you share?

I'm considering getting back into Rebels and was hoping to do a navy theme to match my Imperials.

The arms should fit if you cut the insert part a bit. I’m not sure though
