Piles of resources on quests

I wondered if we should continue to put resources on quests each turn even after they (for example) have accumulated the three resources required to activate them? It seems that sometimes quests end up with ten or more resources sat on them. Is that what is intended? and if so what happens if we run out of resources?

Unless the Quest requires you to move off the resources on it to activate its effects (Defend Tor Aendris, Reclaim the Hold), I stop adding resources after the Quest gets its third resource.

I wouldn't be surprised if, in the future, we see cards that remove a number of resource tokens from a quest. If that happens, then you will probably want to keep adding them as a safety net. As it stands right now, Dam is right; it's just a waste of tokens.

Yep - I couldn't think of anything that removes tokens off the top of my head but I wasn't sure.
