Single ship builds

By newbie01, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

for example

Nebulon B escort frigate

Cmmdr Sato

Salvation title

Lando

Engineering team

Spinal armaments

thought this would be a strong build for the Nebulon as part of a fleet , costs 108 points , im new to this so thoughts and suggestions very welcome

Sato Salvation can be really strong, that's a lot of points to invest in a small ship but I could see it working just avoid obstacles and collisions and screen it against bombers those would be it's major vulnerabilities.

Thank you for your insight, i see alot of fleet builds but thought it be fun to show off our individual ships and upgrades that could be part of a fleet set up , i like the look of the nebulon and am trying to find ways of making it a strong ship

Oh, did someone say single ship build? :D

I see you havent gone with turbo laser reroute which i understand is usually paired with the Cr90's, whats the thought process behind that ?

This CR90 is not meant to fight, its meant to run. Get the 2nd player thru sheer lowest bid, then run away for 6 rounds and win 6-5. TRCs would lower the corvette's defenses H9s allow scoring points on the CRIS objective when enemy ships close. Rogues are there to protect the Corvette from enemy squads and demo

I admit the objectives could still use some work, other options include targeting beacons and jamming barrier. Will have to figure out which is best on the table

There is only one problem with this list.
A 6-5 is not a win, it is barly a draw with bonus.

And most lists are still able to catch and kill you. Especially when they can do last/first.

The Redundant shields will help prolong the life of the ship along with your engineering values and tokens if you go with them, as im new to the game i'm going in one ship at a time as the saying goes.

The question is, what do you want to achieve with it?
Do you mean a single ship list? Do you mean a combination of ships and cards that are good? For a 1vs1 case? For a 400 point fleet?

The problem with the Nebulon are two parts: Weak defense/shields, bad fire arcs. These are the reasons that Nebulon are not really often used as combat ships.
Sure, this nebulon has 4 red dice for the front, and can deal double damage with crits. But you need to keep the enemy in the front, and the front arc is rather small. On top this side hull is so weak, that 6 damage can kill the ship. And this happens really fast. This is also why commanders are not really often on the Nebulon B.

Next problem: It seems you try to go for defense on the small ships. Engineering Team, Redundant Shields, ...
This will not work and not pay off. The problem is, that the damage is so much higher compared to the amout you can repair. Most of the times you have not even the chance to repair these small ships at all. Or even if you repair, this one damage card or two shields will not change anything (From my experience).

But if you mean nice ship + upgrade combinations, there are way too many to show them here. Especially because they also depend and vary with the commander and the rest of the fleet.

I see what you mean, as i'm new to this i can already see theres many different combinations and combinations that can easily be neutralized by other combinations, lots of learning and trail and error coming up for me

Technically two ships, but here’s an MC75 build I like with Raddus (Rieekan or Madine could probably pull it off minus QBTs, though.) The Hammerhead drops in close, out of a nasty arc and with a double arc and squad dial. Hondo gives a CF token to the Hammerhead and a squad token to the 75. Hammerhead spends the brace and double arcs (Exrax usually out the side.) The 75 burns that brace if it’s still there (a smart opponent will have already burned it against a little Hammerhead attack) and any redirects, then double arcs it again.

MC75 Armored Cruiser (104)
• Lando Calrissian (4)
• Boarding Troopers (3)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
• External Racks (3)
• Leading Shots (4)
• Quad Battery Turrets (5)
• Profundity (7)
= 137 Points

Hammerhead Torpedo Corvette (36)
• Hondo Ohnaka (2)
• Boarding Troopers (3)
• External Racks (3)
= 44 Points

Total Points: 181

MC75 Ordnance Cruiser (100)
• Commander Sato (32)
• Bail Organa (7)
• Ordnance Experts (4)
• Rapid Launch Bays (6)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
• Assault Proton Torpedoes (5)
• External Racks (3)
• Aspiration (3)
= 167 Points

Always trigger sato with RLB, I like b-wing/gold squad drop to get a massive amount of damage in with this guy. Bail for first player to interrupt a pryce double.
