Which means that bomb did WAY more than just eating whatever the 4 dice give you. Two turns you are basically losing actions/mods, and turning away from the fight. That bomb did work.

Hmm... So all in all about 3 ships with access to it will be able to launch it.

It might make for a **** of a first two turns engagement for a small number of ships, but I’m not sure how amazing that will be overall. I think it will probably work best if instead it’s dropped in a flyby from something like a Y-Wing.

Or a TIE/Sa (tossing sideways with their ship ability, especially if they have a Skilled Bombardier), though I can see Punishers equipped with this, Traject Sim and Prot Bombs having some decent use. I'm not of the opinion that EPB is overpowered or broken at all just for the record. The amount of set up involved to use, the requirements for equipping over and above points cost and the agency it gives the opponent to avoid balance it out nicely to me.

Another restricting factor is that you can only ever take 1. They are unique and cannot be reloaded.

The BTL-B Y-wing card spread has the Token for the Electro Proton Bomb so we will hopefully be seeing the bomb in that expansion too.

This is true for the player dropping it, too.

Question on being ionized; the rules reference states you may only perform the focus action after your 1 blue straight if you are ionized. Do you have to have the focus action available on your pilot card? I am curious if you catch some vultures or hyenas in the blast range are they w/o any actions b/c they have calculate or can they focus due to being ionized?

You have to have the Focus action. Ionization does not grant the ability to perform it, it limits what is permitted to it. Droids hate being Ionized more than other pilots. Rather thematic honestly.

Thanks for the explanation. Agreed thematically it fits well. Mental note send in a stripped down hyena on one side of the table and keep vultures at a safe distance.

so as a scum player im likely going to have to buy a non-scum ship to get one of these?

For the time being sadly. We're looking at either upgrade packs or the Re-release of the Scum Y-Wing, which it being included there is unlikely, otherwise.

Right now (when Wave 4 drops) only the Separatists are going to have them in faction with the Hyena. Wave 5 Republic is going to get them with the BTL-B Y-Wing (the Clone Wars one). At the moment those are the only two "spoiled" releases that are coming with Electro-Proton Bombs.

I see the bomb coming in at 6-12 points.

12 points because they err in the cautious side for new mechanics, 6 because they may see it as ultra situational and it’s restricted heavily by what can take it, AND it has one charge, is unique and can’t be reloaded.

I don’t think VTG will be increased a lot. I think it’s in the turrets that the cost will be given.

FFG r keepn us guessing as to cost. i hope ur guess is right. im predicting in the range of 10-16pts minimum.

My guess, based on the potential for grossness, is that it’s somewhere in the range of 15 points, but I’ve been wrong many times before.

On the bright side, with it being a Unique upgrade you'll see quite a few of them floating about as extra, since most people will probably end up buying 2+ Hyenas / Republic Y-wings.

seems about right. they will want it to be playable. but not Leia crew playable.
