Four Ship Rebels - Jake / Gavin / Ten / Braylen

By knute, in X-Wing Squad Lists

On a whim, I put together a list featuring all the ships I wanted to play since 2nd edition dropped but haven't been able to, and here is the result:

Braylen Stramm (47)
Jamming Beam (0)

Ship total: 47 Half Points: 24 Threshold: 4

Ten Numb (46)
Jamming Beam (0)

Ship total: 46 Half Points: 23 Threshold: 4

Gavin Darklighter (61)
Trick Shot (2)
Fire-Control System (2)
R4 Astromech (2)

Ship total: 67 Half Points: 34 Threshold: 3

Jake Farrell (36)
Ship total: 36 Half Points: 18 Threshold: 2

Total: 196

Set up with vary depending on whether I'm facing low-initiative or high-initiative ships. Against low-initiative ships, I'm thinking to set up a joust with Ten and Braylen with Jake and Gavin flying together on the flank, with Jake giving Gavin double mods and Gavin bumping everyone else's hits up to crits. Against high initiative ships I set up the B-Wings in the middle with Gavin and Jake on the flanks facing in until I can see what the opponent is doing.

I have a 4 point bid, but that seems a tad much for a list of I4's. I'm thinking to put crack shot and marksmanship on Jake and roll with a two point bid. Alternatively I can plop trick shot on Ten and Braylen and go without a bid. Or stick crack shot on everyone but Gavin and call it a day with a 1-point bid.

Thoughts?

Put it on the table. Whatever happens, it looks like a hoot to fly.

Best life advice I've had so far.

Crackshot is better than Marksmanship in my experience. It can be hard to line up multiple bullseyes to get more than one use out of marksmanship, but cancelling an evade at a critical time can make or break you, especially if it's a crit that would go through. I say put crackshot on everyone and don't worry about a 1 point bid unless you feel you really need it. Against aces you're going to lose the bid anyway and against 199/200 point lists that crackshot could be the difference maker.
