What to get?

By gmcc, in Star Wars: Legion

I think I'm safe to claim First Order Scout? 😜

Akbarscout taken yet?

As to the OP’s question, I’m going approach the answer from another angle. My personal philosophy has always been buy what inspires me. Mostly because I am not a naturally avid painter and my group is keen on playing fully painted forces; not painted - not on the table without some penalty (e.g. Sing ‘I’m a little teacup’, buy the beer/snacks, etc.)

This does means my force is a made up of some less efficient units that I was excited to finish (I’m big on Wookies, so I play 2 units and Chewie) but I always smile when I see my force lined up for a battle - before they get smooshed.

In your case, decide what you want to paint next and go box to box. And if you can manage it, start a friendly competition with another player where you text each other pics of completed units. You’d be surprised how much you’ll get done to keep pace.

My two credits.

I am new as well, only have one game under my belt. I have bought all my stuff second hand, some brand new in box, for pretty big discounts. I have 1 core and a second core will be my next purchase, even though I have a lot, my son is also playing so we need the extra cards, dice, etc. I have one of everything except for the past couple of waves - Tank/Speeder, Jyn/Pathfinder, Krennic/DT and Snow/Fleet. After the second core I will get the Snow/Fleet expansions and then the Jyn/Krennic waves. The Tank/speeder are low on my list atm. Check your local gaming community on social media, people are always selling games and usually a pretty good deal. I am a completionist so I will eventually have everything - but I do not have the time to be super competitive so I do not need to buy 4-5 of this pack.

Also be alert on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. The online deals for Legion were absurdly low. T-47's were $9, and scout walkers were $17. Core sets weirdly fluctuated by a few bucks from FFG's Amazon account but hovered around $50.

I just started not to long ago so,

Core sets are such a great value for what they offer - Buy 2-3.

From there is you are doing Imperials as that is what I play the following is what I would tell myself if in the same place.

1 Snow Trooper

3 Recons

2 Imp Officers

2 Death Troopers

1 Director Krennic

1 Boba Fett.

If you are a completion-ist buy one of everything. If you care about Driods or Old Rep pre order 2-3 Core sets of the New core and 2 new card packs.

Right, an escalation league sort of thing. Great for motivation.
