1:47 Leia gets out of the captain's chair to let Chewie and Han fly the Falcon again. In the prior scene, both were fixing the Falcon so we assume either Leia or 3PO was flying the Falcon, the second of which is unlikely.

1:50 Leia takes control of the Falcon and flies it for the rest of the scene.

Why has she been overlooked as a pilot for the Falcon in both editions? If you were to design a pilot card for her, what would it do?

(Also worth mentioning that early on in the extended universe she was shown flying Y-Wings on numerous occasions, and has flown many ships in the new comics and books as well)

Taking the controls for a bit is not the same as being a Pilot of a craft. I think she will be in an N-1 and a Y for maybe both Rebel and Republic. Could easily be done if they are going to bring out card/pilot packs

Yeah I could definitely see her in one of those ships, but also, these scenes always struck me as a bit more than just taking the controls for a bit:

In retrospect, it would've been cool to have something like an I3 Leia with the ability Lando ended up with instead (and giving some different ability to Lando).

In lieu of that, maybe something that allows a friendly ship to boost after she performs an attack? Emulating the trash compactor scene, basically.

We don’t really see Leia as a pilot in the OT. Would be cool though and that’s what counts!

A correction, Leia is in Chewies chair in both scenes, aka the co-pilots chair, not the captains chair. (The Falcons weird like that, despite the shape seating is still in style with an American layout in a car.) The only time we see her in Hans chair is during the episode 4 tie fighter attack, and that’s not really a fair assessment for her piloting skills because the falcon loses the lateral controls very early in the fight.

Still, I think she was left out of first edition due to not wanting to create anymore 1E fat turret monsters. Then they had to convert all the 1e pilots over. I wouldn’t be surprised if she shows up as a pilot in a 2nd edition card pack for the Falcon, it’s a natural choice.

Incorrect. Leia is seen seated in Hans chair during the escape from cloud city, and when rescuing Luke from the antenna thing below cloud city after he gets his hand chopped off. Ironically, during the movie scenes depicted on both Han solos Pilot art and Chewies Pilot art, Leia is the one in the "captains chair" and the one giving the orders. 😋

I really want Leia piloting something. An N-1, a Y-wing, the Falcon, or even a lowly stolen Tie/ln. Not at all concerned with what she flies really, as long as I can put her in the cockpit. I just love that character so very much. I'd say low to mid init, so like 2-4, since I don't recall her doing anything all that fancy. I'd also say she deserves some kind of ability that provides support to her allies, since she is in a command position with the Rebels for the majority of the films. Maybe something that passes focus under the right circumstances like lining up a bulls-eye arc or staying a certain distance from her. Here's hoping she pops up at some point in one of the Rebel releases.

I think it might be difficult to come up with pilot ability for her that’s good enough to justify taking her as a pilot rather than crew without it being ‘broken’... 😛

Artoo and Threepio flew the Falcon when Luke, Leia and the gang were escaping Xixor's palace in Shadows of The Empire.

Well... yeah? Leia could be an N1 pilot for the Rebels - she flies one in a canon comic strip.

But why would she be a Republic pilot, at any point? The Republic is over by the time she would be old enough to fly.

What? She was born after Order 66 and the defeat of the CIS. I'm pretty sure that means the Republic basically is the Empire at this point, and is getting ready to change the name. That doesn't leave a lot of time to get through flight school if she's gonna fly for the Republic.

Being as Padme watched the declaration of the transition from Republic to Empire before going to talk to Anakin on Mustafar (Obi stowed away) and Leia & Luke were born after that fight, the Republic was dead before she was born.

Leia (crew)

Front: During system phase, you may flip this card

Back: Treat the ships as being Piloted by Leia with [...] modified stats until end of turn, repair 1 damage.

I assume single use, but could be repeatable/charge based/etc.

Anyway, Leia's actually flown the N1 Starfighter as well, but honestly- FFG doesn't seem very interested in making her a pilot of any ship, which is honestly quite the bummer.
