I agree with pretty much all of the things StormKnight, Sarim, and Fizzletop wrote. I felt this game was marketed for 2+ players, but it's really not at all (unless you want to play it super-clunky).
I don't feel like I even tested it enough to gauge if it was imbalanced because we just weren't having any fun. It's not a complicated game at all, but it forced us to reference stats unendingly. Gameplay ended up slow and tedious for that reason. No sense of accomplishment on the route to victory.
The new rules might fix many of these problems.
