I've done the Weiss version enough to know this works extremely well, and is the best version of the ATST. Is it competitive? Probably not. Will it destroy a whole unit of Rebels from full health? Probably.

Ive taken the ATST to LGS organized play, and it has only died once. Most of the time, it just doesn’t do enough damage to be worth it, but it doesn’t actually go down most of the time.
I take them down all the time, which is why Empire players don't take them anymore.

Hate the game mechanic, not the player. More dice rolled equals more chances of crits. Han (or Leia, or Like) and Chewie (And 3 at rts with rotary blasters) all have surge to crit. Also, this is an objective based game and most of the objectives cannot be taken by an AT ST
