The pathfinders go first with the uplink and either aim and shoot or shoot and scoot behind cover. Leia can then do the coordinated bombardment on whomever you want to spread damage around.

Yeah, that’s how I use them as well, if my opponent leaves a unit exposed. Usually I wait to deploy them last to see if that happens. If you put recon intel on them, you can drop them at range 3+ of your target and then recon into range 3 to get your full dice pool.

If my opponent doesn’t leave me something I can target safely, I just drop them in an important spot near my main force and use them as a forward objective unit.
