Anybody that is flying Republic what are the options?

I'm seeing all sorts of chatter "V19's are bad" "Deltas are bad" etc.

But what has worked for you? I have 1 Hero of the Republic, 1 Aethersprite ex Pac and one Republic Arc + 1 Rebel Arc.

I'm thinking about 1 sprite, 2 torrent and an Arc for my first list. (Though I would like an Ani and Obi lost)

I've been theory crafting and considering Ahsoka, D7, battle meditation. 2 Blues with Juke and Wolfie, maybe with a vet tail gunner.

IMO the ships are what you make them. Fly what's cool. Sure, the republic could use some point adjustments down the road, but with what you have, you can do plenty.

2x Gold Squadron Troopers w/ Conc. Missiles

Could be a good list to get a grip on the clones. An archetype that a bunch of people in my area have been flying are one thick jedi, alongside two Arcs.

Barebones Anakin and two 104th Battalion Pilots come in at around 56 points to toy around with. Make sure you leave a bid for Ani, but however you stack him up, he's great.

Anakin with SNR, CLT and R2 is a clutch ace, and alongside the ARCs would give people a run for their money.

Try stuff! Have fun! The new factions are a blast!

Personally I've been running various Ani+2 base ARCs with 7th fleet Gunner which is great as long as you're flexible on proxies since the ARC pack only comes with one of each pilot (in spite of having two of each generic base 🙄) and the 7th Fleet Gunner. Doubling down on weapons disabled with an R2 Astro on top of 7th Fleet makes for a resilient improvement that nicely supports a mid-weight Jedi.

I haven't tried the V-19 yet since I bought a second ARC instead so I could run 4x ARC-170 using two rebels and two Republics. 4RC is pretty durable and arcs out the back everywhere will give some aces the squeeze, but overall I don't think the versions I tried are very competitive, although I was going more for jank with R3 and Sych Console.

2 delta 7b jedi + 2 v19s is good. Has won a few trials and top 16 multiple times.

2 delta 7b + an Arc is good. Just made top 8 around here (Ani,Ashoka,Wolfe).

1 support jedi + 3 Arcs is good. Made finals here and another made top 8 here.

It's basically the "Anakin faction" at the moment. Support Ani with other Jedi, ARCS with Palp/7th Fleet Gunner or whatever, but have him basically fly as an i6 arc dodger. Ahsoka's ability is really good. She's basically AP-5 with a good chassis and force. Mace is decent but i4 hurts him. The rest of the Jedi have been meh for me. They really need a way to recharge their force like with Hate to get any real use out of their abilities.

Republic ARC pilot abilities are not super great. Nowhere near Norra Wexley levels. I have seen V19 swarms tried, and they're kind of meh. If they could take barrage rockets, maybe. As it stands they're nowhere as good as vulture droids as an ordinance swarm due to poor initiative for target locking. Named torrent pilots are a tad too expensive.

Also, Dedicated is my lead contender for worst upgrade in 2.0 so far. If they made it 0 points... perhaps. You still need to overpay for a generic pilot with a talent slot after all. The fact that you then have to jump through so many hoops for not even a guaranteed evade is awful.

Essentially what shinbo said. I basically flew them for a month straight and came to the same conclusion.

THIS BEING SAID, all three ships are insanely fun to use. The Republic, as a faction, in terms of ships, pilots, and identity, is crazy fun. I think they're just going to get WAY more viable as they get a few more ships. Even the Naboo I think is going to have a huge impact. Having generics that can hit hard and also dance around with the Jedi is going to throw a huge curve ball, along with the Y Wing coming later. This means I remain hopeful, as rather than being the Rebels who were kinda crippled and could possibly go downwards at the start of 2.0, they are pretty good and just overshadowed by other factions with better stuff, and can only get better as time goes on.

I think the biggest issue is that the Arc is just a fireball foom foom magnet, so playing two or more is basically required. This means that you're left with the Torrent (which isn't strictly bad by any means, just kinda limited in options for true viability at the moment), and the Jedi (which are crazy fun, but about half the roster doesn't exactly work with the current ships, which is why adding the N-1 and Y wing is going to be so huge I think. Take for example, Plo Koon and two Y wings with ProTorps for example, probably with a second Jedi in the mix, or an arc or some torrents. With Plo available, both Y wings can shoot Protons Two rounds in a row, which opens up way more possibilities and stuff). Basically, they have a bunch of potential, but like the FO don't have too many options to work with.

After all this, Mace, Luminara, and 2 GSP's is where I'm leaning right now. Luminara is a monster, and Mace because I haven't caved and given in to the Anakin side yet.

Personally I think folk are focusing a little too hard on Delta-7B Jedi aces as the be-all, end-all of Republic ships. While the Torrent doesn't have a lot of viable options, the basic In2 version is phenomenal as an efficient swarmable ship, and really begins to shine when you put a brick of 3/4 of them together. They're hard to one-shot, have a great linked action, and are dirt cheap. Just don't waste points giving them missiles (it's absolutely a trap). Likewise, I find the ARCs are best kept lean, with the only upgrade I've ever stretched to being Cody, if the points were going spare. 'Sinker' is an absolute bargain at 54pts, and is quite easy to get a lot of value out of.
Lastly, I think Jedi being used purely for support (i.e. their force abilities rather than jumping immediately to 7B) are criminally underused. Obi-Wan, Luminara, Ahsoka and (to a lesser extent) Plo all work well in this role without needing to spend a fortune in points on them, and will more likely be able to preserve their Force for said abilities.

For me, at least, Republic is definitely emerging as a 'minimal upgrades' faction. My successful lists with them often only have one or two upgrade cards in the whole list.

Well in my experience I have flown 4 naked V19s and gotten them absolutely mauled by droid swarms. I found it hard to pop the droids with 2 dice attacks due to their networked battery of calculates, and had no jank for self-preservation when they shot back with their energy shell crits. But maybe it was a bad matchup and bad dice luck. I just wish they had more jank to them. They just seem like awkward headhunters at the moment. Sinker would help though for sure. The rest of the named pilots on the torrents and ARCs are a bit overcosted for what they do IMHO.

Flying lean Jedi as support is pretty legit. Maybe with Ahsoka or Barris you might actually get some bloody damage out of the **** things. I might dust them off at some point to try again in the future.

Oddball is a blast and with synched console and a bunch of cluster torrents you can make an opponent have a very bad day. The Jedi are fun but you really have to know what you're doing as the delta ( even the 7b) isn't a good straight up jouster. If you're good with other ace platforms with great manueverablity a la Kylo in the Silencer you'll love them. And the ARCs are just fun beat sticks. Slap r3s and tail gunners and fly in formation to profit.

As far as the future stuff I don't care for the N-1, but the Republic Y-wing is going to be sick.

EXPENSIVE for one ship (SNR = SuperNatural Reflexes right?). I would love to try it, but I would be afraid of messing up and losing Anakin. Still if you can keep Anakin alive (and preferably above half HP) and his wingmen do their part (i.e. kill more points then they are worth), this could work. It definitely meets the requirement of FUN! And with the ARC wingmen you suggested, purdy! ARCs are a COOL looking ships! I use my Rebel ARCs as Republic. You can field 3 unique pilots without proxies on 1 expansion pack that way!

Tried this one and it was pretty awesome, Anakin and Ansoka just will not die!

The only thing I question in the list is Seventh Fleet Gunner though setting up Snips for four dice with full mods and a bonus focus die at I7 is quite satisfying. You've got some points to add Dedicated or Sync consoles to the V-19s.

I feel that there is some synergy in the republic ships but I’ve seen it mostly with jedis. There must be a way to get all ships involved and working together, but I’ve yet to see it. Sync console I think has potential but it is very conditional, but it is only 2 points. Overall I think this faction has a promising future...
