I am just asking, I would hate for this forum to become a fanboi forum, where all critisicm get smashed, even constructive critisism.

Nice try but too late. This forum is not different from other forums like that on the WotC site. Both are full of a mob of brainless fanboys which are yelling down ANY critisicm which arise about the sujet. If you want to discuss this edition in a mature, non-one sided way you have to visit 3rd party forums. (like sts)

A mob of brainless fanboys which yell down any criticism? Generalize much? Perhaps you should go to StS and call them all a bunch of a brainless fanboys and tell us how much better it goes. The trolls (on either side) aren't even trying any more. Mods should mark this thread closed.

Please keep the conversation civil. These forums are a place for the community-at-large, that includes every one of you, to participate in conversation. We encourage discussion, but not arguments.

Disagreeing with someone's opinion is valid.

Discussing or offering an alternate viewpoint can be valuable, if offered without aggression or ill will.

Dissecting an earlier post, or attempting to "debate" an opinion comment by comment, may not be productive at all.

Consider that the value of reading the others' opinions may be far higher than promoting your own.

If this thread devolves to personal attacks, it will be closed and deleted.

I'd say that StS is just as one-sided as this forum...it's just the other side. In order to get the big picture, you have to read both forums and take everything with a grain of salt. Or maybe a whole salt shaker.

If by the other side you mean extensive and illuminating plenary discussions on Warhammer World background, magicks, origins, Old World histories, persons of note, not to mention almost every book/scenario published, then yes, you have a valid point. gui%C3%B1o.gif

I recommend everyone here come and data mine the forums there which date back as far as 2002 or 2004 (sorry, not sure). I'm positive you'll find more than enough to enrich your own Warhammer campaigns. Player Warning: the forums are laden with (duly noted) scenario/adventure spoilers.

There's a rumor that hurdy gurdy players hang out there as well.

LOL @ all the funny stuff on this Thread.. .. Im not going to fingerpoint.. just state my 5 and go.. I've found this game to be very involving and very difficult.. Due to this being the first RPG i've owned or participated in..

But the many of questions i've had .. i have found that there is a good community of people on this fantasy flights .dot com .. I still read the Gm and Adventurer Books every night.. trying to pick up anything that i missed the first 20 times reading it.. I've found many complications but have, for the most part, found a way around them.. (its a creative game.. the rules dont seem to matter 100% of the time.. Just as long as theres a couple hours of chillaxing.. ... rollen some dice.. ) But in general.. .. it was expensive .. .. so was the adventure kit.. ... but the Art work.. and Detail of the game seem to out way the cost.. there's something special in the Core .. it has the potential to be complete as long as u aren't caught up worrying about a fraction of confusion.. The tracking tokens .. ya,, they are kinda annoying .. but .. they do serve their purpose. . cool concept and battle arrangments confusing for a newbie like myself . But Really .. The couple of people that have answered my questions .. make up for any inconvience that my Lack of Reading and Understanding caused this game.. ..

.. Some times .. it just takes the right eye.. to see the beauty in things.. but .. .. if i could spell intrigued .. I'd announce that .. (it) was the feeling i had towards this Fantasy Game thing.. .

. .. at first i thought it was a board game.. when i bought it.. .. but .. being a Virgo.. I tossed out the reciept .. and wouldn't just let it rott in the box.. ... Had to figure it out.. .. mastered it .. well.. .. trying to master it.. and now im interested in it enough to be on here every day reading.. is that 5 yet.. ? anyway... Im not giving up on this yet.. its just me and the wife.. trying to get a decient story game thing going on .. .. .. got sick of playing cards and chess.. .. Thanks warhammer.. my head still hurts .. .. Heavy reading material ..

Oh, I mean all of those things. It's the most helpful site on Warhammer history on the web, bar none. In fact, I'd say it's the most helpful site for the history of any game I've ever played. And everyone's quite willing to share information and is very friendly (if you're not rude when you post.)

That being said, I do think it's about as hard to get an honest and in-depth discussion of the merits of 3e going over there as it is to get an honest and in-depth discussion of the game's problems over here. This forum has a preponderance of people who love the game, while that one has a preponderance of people who strongly dislike it. That was my pointto get the big picture, you have to visit more than one forum, because it seems like the different forums aren't copies of one another; they provide very different information because they're not serving the same demographic.

atykduzt - I love your posts.

You remind me that these games are for imagination and fun, whereas a lot of long term roleplayers become cynical and mechanically minded. And that fun and imagination is what should always be promoted. It's the difference between "there is a huge fire-breathing fxxx-off evil-bxxxxxd dragon!!" and "It's 16+3HD red dragon breathing cone of fire"

EDIT: *Cough* You sorta get used to having profanity filters and assume they will kick in sonrojado.gif
