Autopilot Drone (Redocking/Coordinating)

By Cgriffith, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Can the player with Auopilot Drone do the following:

Start docked:

1. Undock then coordinate, and spend 1 charge.

(Bump)

2. Redock the next turn.

(Then repeat the sequence until the it explodes)

all of this isn't entirely clear, but pretty much, yes.

there is a thread discussing some of these effects here:

you can of course start the game docked, then undock and perform an action and loose a charge.

you would then need to make sure you undocked in such a way that your falcon bumps you, so that you are at range 0 for the next rounds systems phase.

during the next round, you can dock again (and probably not have to loose a charge. that's not entierly clear, but i would allow it)

repeat.

the stress you gain from performing a red coordinte action should stay on the ship even while in reserve, so you would always need to undock with a blue maneuver to be able to coordinate again.

If the Autopilot Drone is undocked at any point in the system phase, does it lose a charge (if it can)? Can you choose to dock it BEFORE it loses a charge? And, I'm assuming that even a chargeless Drone can still be docked, at which point it's basically a Proton Bomb?

i think the player can choose whether to loose a charge before docking or not, but that discussion is held in this thread:
