Quick Build - Final Score

Hi everybody!

I would like to ask how to calculate the final score of a quick build match:

1. How many points do I get for taking down half of a ship? Half threat level, rounded up?

2. I would like to run the Lothal Rebel with a Sheathipede docked (see Rebel Quick Build pdf), which has an aggregate threat level of 4, but the single threat levels are not specified. How many points does my opponent get if he/she destroys only one of the two ships? How many if only half of one of those ships?

No rules exist for these situations you will have to make something up.

QB doesn't have tournament rules, what little rules exist tacitly assume you play until someone is tabled.

I think we can calculate points accordingly to the threat level; playing till someone is tabled could take too much.

Full ships = points equal to the threat

Half ships = threat rounded up

Lothal+Sheathipede = 3+1 seems reasonable

Using the real score of the squad builded in the app could cause some problems: most of the lists exceed 200, generating issues in the MoV, and some ships are equipped with illegal upgrades, so you cannot know their real value.

Lastly, the veteran tail gunner is not available in the app, if you plan to use an Arc for example.

So I am planning a tournament in a bit using quick build cards. My plan at the moment is to treat each threat as 4 points. 32 points for a list. The reason I am doing this is because it should always divide into a whole number. So if a 2 ship, 3 threat quick build has 1 ship at half health, it would be worth 3 points to his opponent.

We actually held a QB event a few months ago. What we did was double the threat of each build as points (so a 2-threat x-wing was worth 2 points) then just scored half of that (so, original threat) as half points. It worked somewhat, but afterward we discussed a couple tweaks and this is what we'll do in the future:

- Each QB card's threat is quadrupled for points purposes. (So one of the dual-IG builds that cost 6 threat are worth 24 points total)

- Scoring half-health on a single-ship QB card earns half points for the build (so double the original cost of the build, so 4 points for a 2-threat x-wing)

- Scoring half-health on a single ship from a 2 ship QB card earns 1/4 points from the card (so half-pointing the shuttle from a Ghost/Phantom card would give you the original cost of the card in points. Half-healthing both ships, or killing one, would be worth 1/2 the total points, killing one and half-healthing the other would be worth 3/4 (or 3x original cost) and killing both gets you the full points)

- Games are worth 32 points, and can be dumped into cryodex (or most other tournament management systems) as such and get accurate enough MOV to not matter.

4x threat level is a smart, clever and elegant solution, and it covers all the possibilities of a double qb card!
