I'm assuming "Epic missions" and "Epic" are separate things here?
Simply boils down to budget. For a single huge ship, i can get multiple smaller ships i'll use far more often. And i'm not really a fan of any of the existing huge ships.
Epic mode is another matter, i'm doubtful how practical it is though. Might work in local store, but almost certainly can't play at home (for lack of space).

I’m also super stoked for the idea of a campaign to play a series of missions through to get to a final conclusion. I feel like this is what epic should have been all along, and am hoping since the missions are being sold separately that they’re way more detailed than the little cinematic mode that came inside the 1.0 boxes.

Do You Plan To Play Epic Missions? OH YES - 400/6 Deathmatch format is boring. I have some ideas for a mission tree, but too much real life going on, and too many hobbies, so progress is slow.
What is Your Biggest Draw to Epic 2.0? Wars normally not consisted of snubfighters going one on one, normally some objective involved. Hopefully good mission/scenario packs coming (e. g. including permadeath of pilots in a campaign) Some of the missions coming with the Huges in 1ed were not good though (e.g. Tantive ones), hope FFG puts much more effort in this time! Battle of Scarif pack would be nice.
Also, wings of generics ditching it out, instead of always the same high Ini superaces packed to the gills with shenaniganz.

Biggest attraction is missions and scenarios with my boys. Both are far more interested in the role play element of X Wing, through campaigns, exp and playing as a team, than standard 200pt vs deathmatches.
