Any ideas on which Heavy Weapon will be standard for CW armies?

Ion tokens costing vehicles an action though gets a little hinky on upgrade pricing though, so I get the logic.

Also, will Ion Weapons start being able to take actions away from Droid Troopers?

New units coming out may make having some access to Ion worthwhile.

No clue. We won't know until the next RRG update or other spoiler.

So I was looking at the odds, and if someone who’s good at this can check my numbers, that would be awesome.

It looks like the Z-6 (with 4 other troopers) will come up with 3.5 hits per roll on average, but the DC-15 (with 4 other troopers) has the same average of 3.5 hits.

Now to say that they are equal is difficult. The 3.5 hits are average and white dice can swing from no hits to 6 extra hits, meaning it is possible to get 10 hits from a Z-6 and 4 other troopers, but the DC-15 and 4 other troopers can only net a maximum of 6. But there are other things to consider too. The benefits of the Z-6 end at the possibility of having a swing in your favour to get more hits. The DC-15 has a greater range than the Z-6 of 1-4, something that cannot be factored in to such a probability (without using math well beyond most of us) and there is also the conversion of one surge to a Critical hit, which I did not factor into those 3.5 average hits (I’m sure there is a way, but I’m not a Math wiz). Sufficed to say, the DC-15 with its single conversion to a crit then has greater than 3.5 hits per roll (on average).

To me it seems clear. The DC-15 is just better. Though the Z-6 can swing on a really good roll and give you an extraordinary attack, for the most part, it will roll a little worse the the DC-15 and with the added advantage of range the DC-15 is the best basic weapon for Clones to use. The Z-6 is still a good weapon and might still see play, but I think all competitive lists will only carry the DC-15.

Yeah I’m a little slow, the DC-15 and 4 Troopers has 3.625 hits per attack on average, factoring in the single surge.🤓😄

Something to keep in mind with B1s is that if they have the Rocket Launcher and don't get their order token and are at range 4 of something they MUST use the rocket launcher to attack the target in range due to their AI ability.

As for the Clones I think it will depend on what you want to do, 22 dice alpha on something just seems real strong, but the DC-15 for playing the range game is pretty strong too. It probably won't hurt to even mix them at time, just to at times lose the 4 dice from the Z-6 and instead gain at least 1 surge converted to a Critical result.

I forgot to mention that I was assuming that the DC-15 has 2 red attack dice. If it has more, it’s numbers improve.

I was also assuming that the DC-15 does not tap. If it does, I would pick the Z-6, but that’s just me.😁

Too true. It will probably come down to personal preference and we will probably see a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio of DC-15:Z-6.

The z6 should have suppressive given what the weapon is supposed to represent

Suppressive on a spammable corps unit is a really bad idea.

When it comes down to Lore vs gameplay. Gameplay always wins..... That just sounds like a terrible idea.

Isn't the DC-15 better with rerolls like aim tokens? I bet it will cost about 5-10 extra points than the Z-6.
