New Epic

One last ship would be the Corellian Gunship; given how generic it is, I think it would make a great All Faction release. Folks who like to repaint could have a lot of fun making theirs faction specific with new livery.

I agree the gunship aka DP20 would be a good candidate, similar in size to the CR90, well armed and very well used, would make a great brawler huge ship and possible to be used in multiple factions.

The Resistance tv show has the CR-90 being used by the Resistance. It's actually the same ship that fought at Scarif and other places. So, yeah, they will use the CR-90.

No idea on others...

This particular CR-90 was used by the Republic too (it was owned by Bail Organa).

Ideas for options or ways that new sculpts could make the older huge ships better or more interesting? Maybe paint schemes? Not saying there is anything wrong with what is already there, just seeing if anyone has ideas they would like to see.

I mean, simple things even would be nice. Give the CR-90 blue highlights, for example:

Then us old-timers would have red and blue choices, and Epic games could look a little snazzy if a red Rebel corvette was up against a blue Resistance one.

Personally, I think every dang 2.0 ship should have new livery.

The Y-Wing should have been done as gray squadron, the A-wing should get a green paint job, and the X-wing should have gotten blue. I hope the TIE Defender gets prototype stripes.

This, so much this.

I would actually buy more ships (not only the conversion kits).

I'd say I'd consider it but they did it for the fang and I was completely unmoved.

Yep. They could basically get me to chump-buy 1 of every 2.0 release.

Now, I'm like "TAP?? Yeah, got 4+ that look just like that. . ."

And I forgot: the TIE/ln should have been Inferno Squadron since 1/2 the aces belong to that unit.

While it wasn't amazingly different, I still got one.

As an Epic player, that one becomes my ace, and the 1.0 livery is his squad.

Or, if I really wanted to go crazy, I could get multiples and break them into 2 squads.

And of course, I can paint my own, but sometimes I'm lazy. The fact that the minis come with a stock paint job is one of the features of this game.

Yeah, I can agree that they missed the boat with some alt paint jobs that they could have done with 2E. Having the TIE/ln's that came with the core set in standard Imperial colors, and then have the Inferno Squad paint job on the individual TIE/ln expansion would have been a good idea.

I mean, I'm a model painter, so I just make it happen, but I understand that some people that play this game are not painters, so they would enjoy the chance to get different paint jobs if they don't want to go through the bother of commissioning work at their local game store.

And a red/blue X-Wing.

They figured that out for the Vulture, too bad they didn't think of it sooner.

Same here. But I have plenty of other stuff I can do; if FFG throws me a free paint job, I'll take it. Especially since I can then easily have multiples. I can save my painting time for one-offs.

And some things, like the personalized Jedi paint jobs, are just a little more than I want to do.

This. I feel like the Y, A, B, X should have gotten the scum treatment like they did with the Scyk and Z. The Empire I understand is more uniform, but perhaps they can offer the models that used to be in grey ( e.g. tie advanced v1 ) in blue, or vice versa and that sort of thing. Fortunately I have a ton of models still from first edition and my Imperial variety is quite nice. Between the regular releases, the aces, the huge ( with alternate tie advanced scheme ) and buying two core sets for 2.0... I have a neat situation where i can basically field a full squad of navy blue, imperial grey or royal red. That's kinda' neat me thinks.

But yeah, new ship new livery IMO. I hear yah.

I'd like more variants. I've always wanted a green A-Wing.

I don't begrudge them though. For veterans, it seems like a wasted opportunity, but 2.0 is supposed to equally be a starting place for new players. If I was new, I'd personally hate if I had to go hunting down the movie paintjobs. The Scyk feels weird enough to me as a Star Wars Galaxies veteran.

That said, I wish they could find ways to get out some other variants than just Ace/Squadron packs.

For the Epic ships, I'd sort of like to see a late-Corvus design for the Raider.

As well as grey and blue there are options of red, red stripes and white stripes. FFG have already released these variants in first edition so it’s a no brainier for them really. 😊

They did? The 1.0 TIE/ln and TIE/adv X1 were both originally in EpIV very pale grey. The 2.0 TIE/ln and TIE/adv X1 are both in EpV/VI darker blue-grey.

The TIE Adv got a blue gray repaint when issued with the Raider, and the TIE ln got the same treatment with the Gozanti. So really, both options were both already available during 1.0.

I realise that, although I would point out not bundling them with expensive huge ships for a somewhat niche alternative format makes them much more accessible. But the point still stands that FFG did exactly what Ambigatos suggested they should have!

I realise that as well. That's why my my post went on to mention that I actually have those alternatively schemed ships that you mention ( the tie/ln anyways ). I think my point was perhaps similar to what you just mentioned; making them a little more accessible rather than bundling them with a huge.

So Imperial ( tie fighter and tie adv ) and Scum ( scyck and z-95 ) have new paints in 2.0., but so far rebels have kept all the same... I think so far, unless I missed something.

I give the Rebels a pass to some extent though, as while the paint schemes remain basically the same the models are all new and much improved. One of these days I must get around to posting pics of my Wave 1/1.0 and Wave 1/2.0 X- and Y-Wings side by side. It's night and day!

Similar with the upcoming B-Wings I suspect, although I believe they have a new paint scheme as well. The Rebel Falcon obviously remains essentially the same although it is supposed to be an improved sculpt and paintjob.
