So for CIS:

Nute Gunray - A political leader. Certainly not a brave or bold commander. Tended to favor waiting as he always seemed to think the money and influence he had would save him. So I’m picturing a QBT-esque effect. If an enemy ship is moving faster than you, generate a defensive bonus.

Pors Tonith - he had a thin head and was head of the banking clan. That’s all I know and have no clue how he’d be an admiral. He would bring more resources to a fight, so maybe some kind of Tagge-ish ability? If

Wat Tambor - Head of techno union . I’m gonna just assume he would help with upgrade slots. Like adding a turbolaser or ordnance upgrade slot to all ships that don’t have one already.

General Lok Durd - He’s the ground commander who developed and tested artillery that did no damage to mechanical life forms. I feel like he’s similar to Wat Tambor, so I’m not sure what to do here.

General Grievous - Terrifying fighter, capable of commanding fleets. Supposedly a brilliant commander, but he faced it armor in all his on screen appearances and didn’t deliver then. He would be the most raw offensive admiral. The CIS equivalent of Darth Vader.

Admiral Trench - Brilliant CIS admiral who made Yularen throw a piss party when Yularen figures out who he was facing. He had fought cloaked vessels before and tended to predict his opponents very accurately. I’d see an auto-accuracy effect for him in ship to ship combat.

Admiral. Mecha-trench - Still the same guy, still the mind, but now with cybernetics. This suggestion is just an excuse to get two versions of him as a commander so I can put him on the table in more situations.

Durge- Some sociopath that the CIS has commanding fleets. Had a pathological hatred of clones and Boba Fett. I don’t know anything more.

Not really a fleet commander, a mercenary and Jedi killer. Can regrow from almost nothing, would make a good regeneration-themed ace if the CIS gets the Novasword fighter (not remotely likely given how obscure it is.)

Pors Tonith is the EU commander at Praesitlyn, not the head of the banking clan. If we’re bringing in an IBC muun, I’d expect San Hill.

Unfortunately as of right now he’s not canon (sad but true), however if Armada wanted to use this as an opportunity to bring him back into canon it would be super. It does pose a continuity problem as the older comics and 2003 CW series are well out of order time-wise with the current timeline.

Huh. I thought I kept it to canon sources. Oops.

Heres a different take on a couple of them....

Nute Gunray - ships may spend a brace or redirect even at speed 0

Wat Tambor - allows you to use an upgrade that you wouldnt normally be able to... ie ignore small /medium only restriction on a card so you can equip it to your large ships

Admiral Trench - add 1 command to all enemy ships or the ability to look at the top dial of one enemy ship at the start of the ship phase.

DCaps on a Lucrehulk! \o/ That wouldn't be OP for sure! I would Tambor would worth at least 40 points.

What about that Neimodian with that weird rotating light thingy on his hat? Really can't remember how he's called or what he did.

Generally I'd say the GAR should get admirals and Jedi knights as commanders with other officers (clone commanders and CAPTAIN Tarkin for example) and padawans (also rank commander, not the upgrade card just the military) occupying the officer slot. For the CIS tactical droids, council members and ofc admirals seem to be right as commanders, alongside grievous ofc.

Speaking of Grievous, I don't think he should come in the core set. Although we see him Commanding from several vessels (Munificent, reclusant?) he's kind of tied to the invisible hand in my mind. So I think he should come with the Providence class dreadnought. A case for dooku there could be made though.

How would armada make him cannon? Just cause something shows up in armada doesn't make it cannon.

Durge & the banking clan bloke would surely be officers not admirals.

Durge was cool tho.

whoo that almost makes you think I spent longer than 5 seconds thinking of what to do on his card 😛 ....

Also you could add a condition on Tambors card that if you roll X number of blanks /crits in a single shot then the upgrade is removed(its experimental / field upgrade / overloads...) ... OR you could do it as allow him to use a limited type of upgrades ie Tambor can allow you to equip one of the following upgrades to any type of ship....

My biggest problem with the clone wars cartoon (what i saw of it) was how they portrayed him. Every time he seems like a bumbling idiot and the jedi's plot armor ALWAYS used him as the joke. He has a comic that's amazing from the mid 00's and if you get a chance to watch the old Adult Swim shorts his section was insane, it's why i love this character so much.

He still rolled over all the other Jedi. He just got rolled by plot armor when facing Ahsoka, Anakin, or Kenobi
