So I know we're all hype for Clone Wars...

But Fallen Order is apparently a real game which will actually come out and not be cancelled, so there are some slick looking enemy designs which could be cool for legion. The inquisitor is "Second Sister", and I believe the gentlemen are "Purge Troopers". Love to see these figures on the on the table.

Saw that too. With Sabine coming out for the Rebels, I was wondering if we'd get an upcoming Grand Inquistor/Kanan release. Maybe these guys would be some of the troops in that wave.

Don't know how these purgetroopers will be any different then death troopers

in the trailer one guy also has a electrostaff so maybe merge between DTs and IRGs

Well, in fiction they're late-generation clone troopers and they're carrying DC-15s. I feel like FFG will probably tweak that since the default DC-15 shown in the Clone Trooper expansion is basically a DLT. And I dunno if we're up for even a 3-4 man unit throwing 2 red at R4 a piece.

But yeah, they have a different equipment base and training. Death Troopers are meant to kind of fort up and escort commanders or park on objectives I think, and have that pretty intense burst damage with their config weapons. Purge troopers could be built more aggressive and have more ranged options than IRG (since shooting a melee character before they get into melee is good) but also able to fight up close. The officer there has some kind of side arm, like maybe double stun batons.

I think those expansions might be more likely down the road when FFG needs Empire and Rebel releases that include new Force Powers from the Clone Wars force users.

I like the background, that they are sent out to respond to rumours of Jedi and when they find them, they engage them and tie them up while the inquisitors are in bound. Its not impossible that we will get more OT era force users (Old Ben, Ashoka, Kanan, Ezra) and this could be a good counter. Plus if you do a Empire versus republic game, you imagine republic is gonna be Jedi heavy. could also work there too.

This was my thought too.

Clone Wars?

Dewbacks!!!!

I figured it would make more sense for them do a generic inquisitor operative unit option or special forces unit with only 2 minis but more health on them than the purge troopers. But, I guess if they went and did say Grand Inquisitor + another inquisitor and Kanan and Ezra they could release Purge Troopers and Rebel Mandalorians with them respectively.

Second Sister here basically is the generic inquisitor, all the other one's shown actually have distinguishing features as opposed to her default ominous faceless look, and they are not a very large organization.

Best guess is that Purge Troopers are specifically trained for hunting and killing Jedi, and assisting the Inquisitors, whereas Death Troopers are special forces for military missions and aren't for going after Jedi.

Just to be clear, this is “Second”, different and in addition to the known tries-to-be-faceless look SEVENTH sister we already know, (voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar) , right?

I am very hyped for this game. Despite their bad publicity EA does know how to make a good game and their graphics are always amazing

There are an infinite variety of combinations of existing abilities and ones they could make up in order to make them different. Don't confuse your lack of imagination with FFG's.

Wow way to be a killjoy

I’ve lost more than a couple games to Luke and Son of Skywalker. I would love to see both Purge Troopers and Inquisitors come out as a counter, especially with the Jedi heavy Republic coming. Both have a cool factor to them too, the Inquisitors were one of my favorite parts of the Rebels tv show. Also, I can’t wait to play Fallen Order, I just hope EA doesn’t fatally screw it up some how.

EA knows how to make good games. And they already confirmed that there will be no micro transactions

I’ve watched the trailer for the 5th time and I noticed some really nice cinematic shots specifically, the shot of the Venators in what seems to be a scrapping yard of some sort. Hope we get to see all sorts of relics and throwbacks to the clone wars

Looks pretty neat. I'll wait for some gameplay to get really stoked. Hoping for a spiritual next-gen successor to the Jedi Knight series of games.

Looks neat, though I'm amused at how quickly people are to forgive EA. They made a lot of promises for both of their Battlefronts, and neither lived up to the hype. I'll believe this game isn't more of the same only after it has been out a few months.

Side note, the Purge Troopers just look like Airborne Clone troopers in black armor. Not that that is a bad thing, but not overly wow either. In Legion, they could be cool, an interesting mix of Deathtroopers and Royal Guards.

The Inquisitor, on the other hand, is pretty meh. In Rebels, the inquisitors weren't all that powerful, so none of them should be able to seriously challenge Luke, Vader, or Obi-Wan. I've always seen them as an anti-Jedi tripwire. Rumors of Jedi spread, Inquisitor investigates. If its an actual Jedi, the Inquisitor is either killed or calls for back up, and Vader shows up for the heavy lifting.

That would be cool though. It would be nice for the Empire to have a cheap force user option, even if they couldn't go toe to toe with Luke.

Well, they are last generation clones in canon so it makes sense they use modified clone armour

I’ve always kind of wondered why legion hasn’t already brought in the inquisitors, or at least the grand inquisitor already as operatives or army commanders.

the purge troopers could be like royal guard courage and armor, 3 guys with DC-15, some kind of bounty type mechanic around force users, option for an electro staff?

Eh, EA is a publisher. They write the checks, sometimes they make a push for stuff before they open the purse strings, and sometimes they don't really do anything and your studio flounders in pre-production for five years (see: Anthem). I trust Respawn because they've done some pretty good work so far. Based on how Fallen Order is presented, it seems like Disney may have had the "come to Jesus" talk with EA about the license so they may have cut out some of their usual profit maximization shenanigans to make a product nobody will yell about and review bomb and make Disney and Lucasfilm reconsider who they have arrangements with. Or maybe EA is just more hands-off with Respawn, Apex was apparently a very quiet development and release which is actually a big hit right now.
