I actually know of a similar but possibly different leak. This youtuber(don't remember his name), was super negative about the whole thing, stating there had been three different scripts, the original JJ/Kennedy script, a revised script, and a George Lucas version. They decided on the George Lucas version, which Minor spoilers if this is real: A secret Skywalker. Personally I think that this is just some super negative guy spreading dark rumors like peanut-butter(he literally said "Stay angry" at the end of his video.
The Rise Of Skywalker on Disney+ May 4th

They forced a bunch of the legendary old designers into retirement and hired recent top design school grads who didn't understand toys or children. Among other problems, these artists swelled the number of pieces to something like 4,000. Which made the overhead costs skyrocket. Now it's down to, iirc, a more manageable 2,000. For example these guys made like 4 shades of green or grey in production, that's been cut down. Nowadays, the Lego designers have a big board with one of every piece glued to it. Those are the only pieces they can use. The Master Builders DO have the authority to glue something new on the board and therefore incur the costs of putting that color/shape combo into production, but if they do so, they also have to REMOVE a piece from the board. There was also a bit of a tech craze that really hurt Lego in the 90's, they were producing cutting edge stuff and unknowingly selling them for too little. Famously, they were subcontracting a hi-tech piece for one of the Technic sets, and paying more for that one piece, than they charged for the whole set. With those kind of financial blinders on, any company is in trouble.
I used to work at a Lego store, and we were taught all kinds of things about the history of the company.
That's a neat bit of history.
Personally I have a hard time justifying Lego sets anymore. The prices are insane.
The new Lego ISD that dropped a few months ago is selling at $700.... and I'm sitting there scratching my head why you wouldn't just get one of the Randy Cooper ISD resin kits that **** near match the ILM models instead. They cost only about $100 more?
I'm especially dubious of Lego costs now that Chinese manufacturers have started producing and marketing decent quality knock offs around 1/8th the cost.

They definitely seem to make two product lines. One for kids. One for well paid tech industry young males with no dependents.
The sets for kids, keep getting cheaper in dollars to piece count ratio, compared to inflation.
Having bought some of those knock-offs (maybe bootlegs is more accurate) I will say they look nice but break easily. Unless you mean things like Megablocks which don’t stick together well and whose aesthetics I don’t like.

I've seen two brands... Lepin and another I don't remember, I honestly couldn't tell the difference. Though I know a lot of people who build off brand just glue pieces if there's tightness issues. I'd rather pay $120 for the kit and $5 on glue than $700 on the kit.

When it comes to that I agree with your earlier statement. Just buy a model kit! I don’t get lego sets that aren’t toys. The nicest lego collector model pales next to a traditional model kit.

Exactly. Why would you spend so much money on a "model" that has a 0% chance of ever actually looking like the thing when traditional kits exist? It's not like traditional kits are any harder to assemble. Harder to paint, sure, but they'll look good .

I get it when people use Lego as a medium for original art pieces. But I wouldn’t buy a Lego kit as art.
The person who reproduced the old Kenner SW Micro Collection sets in Lego form, or that guy who built a dinosaur skeleton from tan bricks, are clearly very talented.

The leaks from MSW and the Reddit page seem like the most legit I have seen. The reshoots may have changed stuff, but the general plot points should be the same.
Now maybe they got the trailer super early and pieced together the plot, we will soon know. The two leaked pictures show the money shot of the film (one may be the coolest scene of any Star Wars film) and support the leaks.
Mini spoilers
The only thing that makes me question the leaks is that it feel like they try to fix every issue with 7 & 8. Rey's family, Luke not being a badass, knights of Ren, Snoke, Kylo losing, Hux being a joke, Rey being perfect, and OT characters doing nothing.

My love of Lego died this week after they bought out BrickLink. They are as hyper capitalist as everyone else now unfortunately.
As for the 4Chan reports (jeebuz, that is considered anything but troll country these days?), my thought is no matter what happens Ep 9 will not be the worst movie I ever saw in the theatre. Probably won’t even make my ‘top’ 5 bad list.
#1: 1991. Opening night. Highlander 2.
Nothing has ever come close to that monstrosity, and I stuck it out to the end. I do have ptsd from incident mind you.

I just don’t understand referring to these last two films with the term “Skywalker Saga”. The Skywalkers just aren’t that important in it.

Kylo is still a Skywalker by blood I guess. You could say he is kinda a big deal in these films
