If I had to put money on it, I'd bet the new rebellion snagged any of the ISDs that hadn't been scrapped yet to fight the FO. The Empire had 25,000 of them at one point, it would take decades to scrap out that many ships... maybe there were a few left?

I’m in hopes of a large cache of old fighters and ships being used. I’ve heard rumors of K-Wings and E-Wings. Maybe Lando is the key to selling used Galactic Civil War era ships.

If this is the way to get an Interdictor on the big screen, sign me up!

Yep! I’d be on board for that. Just wish they had used the “Legends” Interdictor design with the regular ISD bridge tower.

That would be an incredible way to counteract hyperspace warfare as well!

What if the potential ISD-1 is remnant Imperials who did opted for sovereignty after the Galactic Concordance, who did not go to the outer rim and become the first order are finally shown in here? Maybe they seek out their aid to fight the First Order as a hail mary idea in their final desperate hours. This could lead to the return of Thrawn or some other galactic empire heroes. Honestly I think it would be really **** cool to see the Empire one last time fighting the FO

If it is an ISD, it might just be the wreckage of one. Maybe they’ve gone back to Jakku.

Why does everyone want to go back to Jakku?!

I say the Rise of Skywalker is all about Finn. The reason Han, Leia and Lando were not hanging out as old friends in the Force Awakens is because...dun, dun, dun.....Fin is Ben's brother, the OTHER Skywalker! Lol.

All joking aside, I hope it is better than The Last Jedi, even if that means playing it safe.

It would also be a great way to differentiate them. Disney’s probably not going to make the Empire look morally gray in any way, but it sure would be cool...

Anyone notice the Imperial class Star Destroyer?

Theres the one shot of the A Wing burning in a battle and the ship in the back does not look like a Resurgent.

Looks like a Venator to me

Yup, looks like an ISD to me! Almost looks like a -I, with that upright targeting array, but hard to tell.

@DunaMoose

Definitely an ISD I but possibly with red markings

I’m not saying it’s the Chimaera repurposed to fight for the Resistance but...

My guess is that the “Skywalkers” in the title refer to a group that takes that as their name, not the family. Maybe successors to the Jedi?

Now that we have a title, I just noticed a consistent naming convention across the films. Each trilogy begins with a movie that names a immaterial concept:

The Phantom Menace , A New Hope , The Force Awakens.

The rest all name a group or organization:

Attack of the Clones , Revenge of the Sith , The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi , The Last Jedi , Rise of the Skywalkers .

I have no point here, just noticed it while typing this post.

I had a similar conversation at work today, Here is the line:

Kylo is taunting Rey:

"You can't stand against me, you are no Jedi"

Rey: "Your right I'm something else.... I'm a Skywalker"

I could really dig that!

So end title scene Kid from TLJ= Future Skywalker perhaps?

Where the "Skywalkers" become a new orginazation of jedi esque people except more greyish (like how Rey isn't afraid of the dark side)

I could dig that

Anyone who reads what I'm writing on this post knows that I really don't like the sequel trilogy. In fact I think they are desecrating Star Wars. Yet, after every trailer I couldn't help but to feel a slight excitement about the actual upcoming film . This was the forst trailer that left me with a complete "meh" feeling. If there wouldn't be a Star Wars logo on it, it couldn't find the slightest interest in me, based on this trailer.

Um, just want to note that the trailer shows: The Rise of Skywalker

Mildly excited, mostly hugely skeptical.

Rian punched too large a hole in my enthusiasm for me to recover from one trailer.

JJ may make formulaic movies, but dammit, if we could just rewrite time to hand him the reins of TLJ anyway, we could have had a somewhat consistent and uninterrupted story (and a generally better movie to boot).

Also his Formulaic movies are good, so I like JJ

I'm not his biggest fan, but I enjoy his movies just enough to be okay with his presence. He's he's not my first pick for things, but he generally won't send me looking for something else to watch.

But I also have low expectations when it comes to this film, whoever they please it's going to disappoint others.

Norse, you know what happened with 8 and all, right? There's going to be SOME whiny fanboi here no matter what. "Poe is too OP and not OP enough, Rey has agency, Finn is in this movie, reeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

As long as there isn't any casinos, nobody has to get hurt.

Maybe Captian Whats-his-name from Resistance dropped into his old imperial friend's place after hyperspace and they are teaming up against the FO? He seemed to have a good head on his shoulders.

I think it would be interesting to add Thrawn to the movies. And I’d be happy with some other “EU” stuff like K-wings and E-wings or even the interdictor being added to the screen. I just want more than upgraded TIEs, X-wings, and A-wings.

They've been pulling from the EU since they reset the canon, so here goes:

The Death Star II actually contained cloning vats, as the Emperor meant to make that station his new traveling capitol. During the explosion, pieces fell to the surface, including that vat chamber. The explosion and subsequent landing caused irreparable damage to the chamber, but only after it activated as part of Palpatine's Contingency. The only clone that was close to ready was prematurely activated and irreparably scarred in the crash, but escaped to mete out its revenge, calling itself Snoke. However, that chamber has been repaired, and a fully grown clone of Sheev Palpatine now walks the galaxy, with his spirit inhabiting it.

This is Endor, of course, because the Death Star I was on the other side of a gas giant from the Rebel base when it exploded, having just cleared the planet enough to get off a shot. Any debris would have fallen into the gas giant, shot out into space, or had enough lateral velocity to achieve orbit, at least for a while.

I'd accept that, definitely.
