Any TIE Fighter focused series of any kind that isn't storyboarded and animated by the guy who did the YouTube short is a wasted opportunity and I will hold that opinion until we get a series based on his work.

It is an amazing piece of work. I mean...this need needs a NETFLIX origininal to be made out of it.
It's called TIE Fighter, but those are clearly Interceptors.

Isn't that how the New Republic's Starfighter Command worked in the EU? I seem to recall being rather confused by the rank structure in some of the novels until I realized that the branches weren't using the same structure.

It's very clear that no one working on these projects has any idea how military ranks work.

I'm a fan of the other 5-part comic series that I've read, namely the Leia and Han Solo ones. They are set between right after ANH though, which is where the Marvel Star Wars and Vader comics start also.

Seriously, it was made by one guy in his free time. Imagine what he could make with a team of animators and a budget!

Fair enough. Meddling from corporate or even just other creators on the sam project can either hurt or help any production though. Can't know without trying IMO.
