Nora V1.0 Deadeye revisited

V1.0 Norra Wexley vintage question:

I still play XW1.0 causally and I have a Norra Deadeye question which I could not find answered from the archives.

So Ive loaded crew slots up with M9-G8 and Weapons Engineers to give my 2 T-65 Renegate Wes and Wedge auto rerolls. What else to do with the ARC now? What about Norra Deadeye in combination with Alliance Overhaul and the auxiliary firing arc? As Norra will be an appealing target for getting rid of the target locks for rerolls on the T-65's, I might as well be boosting her auxiliary fire with an auto Crit. Her ability will let me spend an eyeball token to generate an eyeball result, which through Alliance Overhaul will default result in a Critical Hit. So no matter what I roll, I always have a crit. If my dice come up damage or two eyeballs, I might even deal more. Is this correct?

My 1E rules are a bit rusty, but I don't think this works. Deadeye changes the header on special attacks from Attack (target lock) to Attack(focus), and allows you to spend a Focus token instead of a Target Lock as the price to perform the attack, but I don't think it works for pilot ability triggers like Nora's.
