Best Deck for Journey to the Cross-Roads?

I think we know the rules. At least the basic ones like that.

It would be a shame if they made one trap just outright better than the other. So I certainly get that Ambush is better than the Pit in certain cases. And vice versa.

I'm not calling into question anyone's knowledge of the rules. The note that Vermithrax put in his deck description:

I completely overlooked Ithilien Pit . I will be trying this instead of Ambush as it looks to do the same thing only better.

suggested that maybe he hadn't considered this drawback to the Pit. It will be hard to kill enemies in the staging area in the early game with just Damrod's 2 attack.

Ah cripes. It says any. Back to the drawing board. Thanks for spotting that.

Ok. Got it. It was hard to see without context.

‘Any’ does mean ‘one’ in this context ?

Despite the title of the post this is not the best deck for the scenario but I thought I would provide an update.

I made a few changes that helped a bunch. Adding Poisoned Stakes and Forest Patrol helped. I cut down to one Ithilien Pit mainly to fuel Damrod's card draw and add another trap to satisfy the Forest Patrol requirement.

The Dark Lord's Summons vexed me for a while and was one the most common reasons I'd lose. Adding Risk Some Light really helped here. Its a tad expensive without the Secrecy trigger but Sam helps by allowing Wealth of Gondor and Gaining Some Strength. Risk Some Light is well worth it when you get to those final rounds.

Thanks. I ended up beating it with a deck someone had up his sleeve but never published, but I'm sure yours is just as good. Definitely needed a definitive Cross-roads deck published on RingsDB, and yours looks to be it. The others aren't too good.

Another thing: your popular deck had problems beating Mount Doom. Have you created a deck specific to that quest yet?

These are silly combo decks/fellowships so I doubt that's what he's looking for. But no, I don't mind the exposure :).

I haven't built a dedicated "regular" deck for beating Mount Doom because I've found the ones already posted on RingsDB to be effective. I normally recommend this one by MortenDall to people: https://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/7928/my-mount-doom-deck-1.0

So with Sméagol you could reach 97 tokens, as long as you get rid of Stinker?

Well, Sméagol can’t have attachments, so no.

Although it would be pretty funny to lose by Stinker flipping Smeagol if he’s your last hero!
