Suggestions requested on new campaign

Hey all -

So, me and one of my players have been splitting GM duties on a campaign (he will run a few sessions and then we switch) but it’s gotten a little too complex recently so we decided to leave that with him and I will start something fresh and last night was our first session. In short -

* The captain of a Nebulon-B is defecting after the destruction of Alderaan (his home) and the PC’s are part of the crew.

* The plan is to have them alone for a good while until they can safely meet up with the alliance.

* After building new chars, the PC’s helped get the ship free and also stole a Gozanti for good measure.

* They now have to steal a new computer core and slice it into the ship to remove all Imperial failsafes.

* After that, they are going to be clearing out and repurposing an abandoned CIS drydock that still has a few active clankers.

* I then plan on running “Black Ice” (the WEG module) so they have enough fuel forever

* i have also worked up the basis of a deal/trade/betrayal/heist to get their hands on some replacements for the Nebulon’s lost TIE’s

So! My question and request is, are there any adventures or sourcebooks you would recommend that would fit into this BSG-esque, outlaws-on-the-run, military-themed campaign?

As you are not afraid to dip your toe into the WEG waters, you might be able to stripmine Strikeforce: Shantipole for some ideas. Not so much a "Rescue Ackbar and the B-Wing" MacGuffin, but they get a lead on an optimized hyperdrive or an overclocked shield generator.

Oooh, wait - idea! Go with the upgraded shields, because that way you could have a Nebulon B duel while the players race to install the systems. Oh sure, something major like that would require drydocks and downtime - but where is the fun that? Make 'em race against the clock! Plus it give your guys a nemesis in the form of the enemy captain vowing to hunt them down.

Is the drydock land-based? Like are they turning it into a base? You could use the Defiant Core Base setup from Strongholds of Resistance . You could also run a generic mission generator to give them some rebel-esque missions until they get the attention and interest of the Alliance.

You could have the ship captain ask that they try to save as many old "Clankers" as they can to reprogram them to serve these new rebels as shock troops, perhaps they even better their original programming, some could even be reprogrammed as service droids to work on the base and ships. I always thought the modern stormtroopers who are not even close in training to clone troopers of decades past would just have bad time with a few droidikas.

Then again blasting apart old separatist droids could be a good time. Perhaps on their way in some vulture droids and buzz-saw droid ship attack the nebulon B and the rest of the ragtag fleet.

So far we're having a hoot - they got their frigate away, the CIS drydock had a bunch of clankers that they shut-down and have since hard-wired into the frigate's guns to automate them, as well as a bunch of broken Clone War era equipment. I have the next 14 sessions mapped out and just wish we met more frequently than every two weeks ;)
