I don't know if there is a topic already talking about the different podcasts so I am starting this one.

Splinters of Jade is a podcast for the Fantasy Flight version of L5R RPG. Gangi Kozo is the GM with Kuni Garou, Yogo Sojobo and Kitsuki Akira as the players.

Splinters of Jade is being released every other Saturday with the next one being released on the 13th. We are on Podbean, iTunes, Google play and your Podcatcher of choice. We are currently requestions submissions for our Halloween episode,

I recently discovered "Garbage of the Five Rings" which mostly delves into the old lore (ccg, fictions, rpg) when L5R was getting started 20 years ago under the original owners (five rings publishing and AEG).

They only devote a single episode to the recent storyline under FFG, but that makes for an interesting contrast against the original Clan War saga (which admittedly was problematic, but had some great nostalgic and emblematic moments).

I tried listening to this and it made me sad. Devoting a whole podcast to unconstructive spite and mockery seems like a terrible waste of time and effort.

I'm about 10 episodes into this and I really like it. I only wish they'd separate out their lore and background content - that I do care about, from the card game content - that I don't. They do try to mostly separate them within the cast and it is well worth listening to even so.

Im on the same page. Of course they pepper in lore into the card part...

The regular episodes are definitely not for everyone. I hope their episodes covering later arcs are more pleasant of a listening experience, but their gripes are certainly legitimate. Of note, their bonus episode talking about FFG-L5R is worthwhile.

As an update, "Talking Tabletop" and "Court Games" are both worth checking out. Talking Tabletop features interviews with prominent developers in the gaming industry including many of the people responsible for contributing to the success of L5R over the past 20 years.

Court Games covers more lore and fiction of L5R, but also goes into GM advice and includes interviews. If you only check out a few episodes, look for the interviews with DRLaderoute, and Robert Denton III, they're great.
