High magic is on it's way....sooner or later.

By pumpkin, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Just got gathering storm and without giving any spoilers away, one of the cards has a reference to High Magic on it.

From what I can tell High Magic isn't something that's covered in the rest of the campaign, so this must just be forward planning on FFG's part that at some point some kind of rules or cards for high magic will be introduced.

Interesting developments.

Oh great news! Hope this isn't a typo.

By the way, how is "The Storm" ?

Only just got it, but so far I like what I see.

Haven't really looked at the adventure itself in any detail, but it seems to build on the Core mechanics quite nicely, so it would in theory allow you to take the stuff introduced and easily use them going forward in adventures of your own devising.

Its certainly seems to be a clever way of introducing new cards and rules for use beyond the campaign itself, and if FFG continue to use that concept on future "campaign" products, I think they are onto a winner.

Storm is as I'm reading it setting itself up to become a really good senario, its to the point, well written and there are very few of the typos and layout flaws that seems to have dominated the FFG line of WH40K and WFRP books. The storm is an open eneded narrative that allows the players to do what the want in no particular order so only the very beginning and end are fixed. I am for one looking forward to running my prey... Err players through this.

As for high magic, I do think we are going to see it, is it going to be in the "core" magic box or if its going to be in the elf book remains to be seen, I'm hoping to see it in WoM, but I doubt it.

I agree. FFG seems to be trying to make each product appeal to the largest audience. Including useful cards, rules, and standups in an adventure might just tempt even those who traditionally turn their noses up at pre-written adventures to pick this up. Especially if they don't make these same items available later in another product.

I picked it up just for the components and am glad I did. They are great. I did buy it at an online discount knowing full well I would probably never use the scenario, but 25 bucks for the cards wasn't insane.

How much Action Cards and Talents are coming with the box. Are those useful actions?
