Anyone have a pic of the recent Worlds rulers side by side with previous acrylic rules so we can see how they compare? I know the lengths of the ranges and fighter distances have varied quite a bit on prior rulers.

They are all shorter than the range stick from the core box as per usual.

There are only two kinds of the 5+3 range/distance rules.
These that are too short (all of these are the same). And the set that is way too long, from the EC2017 and, i belive, the NA Championship 2017.
I assume all of these are made from the same pattern, and because of this, they are all too short.

The single, double side, distance/range ruler are fine from the lenght.

Uh? Did FFG said anything about the legality of the rulers which are too long? I‘m a bit confused, are all the tournament prize rulers useless?

Neither Illegal or Useless.

IF there's a "problem", then you simply ask for one Ruler - either yours or theirs - to be used for the game, so both people's measurements are Identical...

Simple as that.

Makes no mechanical difference to the game to have a ruler be a few millimeters longer, when both players are using it.

Or recast a tournament ruler in rubber.

Same ruler, but advantage to the player who can stretch it further.

The Green Store Championship Double-Sided Ruler from 2017 is the closest to the cardboard you can get, to the point where probably 80% of the folks playing at Worlds were using that one. Side by side, only the very longest point of Long Range / Speed 5 is bigger, and only by a fraction of the width of a fingernail. Speed 1 - 4 and Close / Medium map exactly.

Of course, my two cardboard rules don't match exactly either, with about the same variation of the Green Store Championship Ruler between the two of them.

It would be a million times easier if FFG just set the distances at common measurements instead of this nonsense. Pick a system, metric or imperial i don't care, and use it instead of making these stupid measuring sticks.

IF you want ,I can drag out 4 separate measuring implements that all show different listed actual lengths for common measurements.

Its not a unique problem to measuring sticks.
